February 3, 2011

The Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies (BHHC) now has the ability to provide workers’ compensation coverage to their clients in every state that allows private insurers to compete for business. Currently, BHHC has policies in force in 44 non-monopolistic states.

BHHC has been providing workers’ compensation insurance to businesses for over 30 years, predominately in California and in the Southeast. By working in concert with physicians and employers, BHHC’s medical management staff is able to lower claims costs; these savings are passed on to the employer through lower insurance premiums and lower experience modification factors.

BHHC provides workers’ compensation insurance through select independent insurance brokers.
