Is it just a coincidence that Toyota vehicles (the best selling make in the U.S.) started having these mystery problems right around the time that Detroit automakers were in serious danger of going out of business? Smells fishy
Could the fact that the current administration is deep under the covers in bed with the United Auto Workers Union, to the point that the President pushed the bond holders to the back of the line and gave a very large ownership stake in GM (Government Motors)to the UAW. Funny how right after the takeover bailout of GM that you hear about accelerator problems and massive recalls of the largest competitor to GM in the Country, Toyota who by the way beats the heck out of the reliability of GM or Ford.
This was a complete propaganda mission on behalf of Government Motors by the Obama Administration to discredit Toyota. I sincerely believe it.
Hold on Folks! Why are you blaming the government for this one? I don’t recall any public official speeding out of control and blaming Toyota. I heard of individual driver’s who have caused accidents blaming Toyota. Then I heard these same people try to sue. So then it exploded into the media saying Toyota cars are dangerous. Then our government steps in, does a probe or study and comes back that Toyota is clean. So if you are blaming the government for this, this time you are wrong. If they were behind this, I’d think they would have found something wrong or stated the results were inconclusive. Case closed.
If it were people instead of government causing the recall, why did the Government call for a recall right off the bat without any real evidence of these occurences being the faulty excelorators. I think the recall caused the con artist’s out of the woodwork to file suits that were unfounded and the total fault of an over agressive Safety and Transportation Department of the Federal Government being told what to do by the UAW and our transparent Presidential administration. “Lets not forget” Do not let a good crisis go to waste. “Rahm Emanuel” White house chief of staff at the time.
Your kidding, right! You dont’ recall the Demo gasbag, 19 term CA Congressman Henry Waxman, pontificating, bloviating and excoriating the execs at Toyota last February. Toyota, a GM non union competitor, was hoisted by their fenders by Mr. Waxman and his Demo colleagues took turns bashing the automaker. If you think that was a coincidence, your political IQ is very low.
My Toyota runs fine and has always run fine. No problemo! I think there were a lot of idiots out there trying to make a problem that didn’t exist in hopes of collecting.
Although Toyota has cleared a major hurdle in its ongoing safety saga, regulators said they would consider imposing requirements for all vehicles to have braking systems that automatically counteract any instances of unintended acceleration.
Toyota, which has put electronically controlled throttles in its vehicles since 2002, has consistently said those systems were safe.
What is UNINTENDED ACCELERATION, and how in the world is a vehicle going to read my mind? A driver should use both hands to control a vehicle. And a standard transmission vehicle requires use of two feet. So how in the world is a driver going to be able to hold down a button or switch during Intended Acceleration?
How many of you remember the very same thing happening to Audi back in the 80’s? It turned out that there was no defect in Audi cars that could cause unwanted acceleration. 60 Minutes deliberately tampered with the brakes and cruise control on an Audi to make it accelerate out of control. 60 Minutes never mentioned the fact that they had rigged the car to do so. They later had to apologize.
In the 90’s Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks with side saddle fuel tanks were an explosion hazzard. NBC staged several crashes with these trucks to prove how dangerous they were. They could not cause an explosion so they planted explosives in a GM pickup truck and staged another crash and got the results they wanted. NBC later had to apologize for lying to their viewers.
The mainstream media in this country are hugely corrupt and shamelessly promote sensationalism with no truth to back it up.
This is a strategic move by the UAW Union with the Obama Administration with the help of the US Department of Transportation and Safety to unfairly penalize Toyota.
Chicago style politics – This administration just does not know of any other way to get things done.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck. It probably is a duck.
Transportation and Safety Board is in bed with the Union! and the Obama administration is extremely corrupt. Talk about a culture of corruption.

It also occurs to me that since there was no defect found, the Feds owe Toyota a refund of the fines they had to pay.
