G.J. Sullivan Co. Reinsurance (GJS Re) has launched GJS Re Facultative to focus on providing quality property facultative reinsurance to select insurance company clients on a nationwide basis.
John W. Threlfall joins GJS Re to head up the facultative group, which will be based out of Essex, Conn. Threlfall has more than 30 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. During his career, he has been responsible for all U. S. property facultative operations at both Guy Carpenter and Collins Associates, and was founder of Palmer & Cay Reinsurers Brokers and, most recently, Atlantic Intermediaries LLC.
GJS Re Fac will build upon the exceptional insurer and reinsurer relationships of the Sullivan Group and Threlfall’s high profile and experience.
The expansion into the facultative area is “a natural complement to our existing presence in the wholesale brokerage, underwriting and treaty reinsurance intermediary practices,” said Hank Haldeman, president of GJS Re and executive vice president of the Sullivan Group.
Established in 1980, GJS Re is the reinsurance intermediary arm of the Sullivan Group, a privately held insurance brokerage, underwriting and intermediary operation. Operating nationwide, GJS Re is a program and specialty reinsurance intermediary providing consulting, market connections and reinsurance to program managers and issuing carriers.
