It took this article a while to get to the point that going direct to a carrier eliminates the persons ability to get a subsidy or tax credit. The only people we’ve seen signing up for health insurance are those that will pay 20% of a $350 monthly premium due to an 80% subsidy.

The young people are also not signing up and this will really skew the results in the long run.

Recall that this is a 100% Democrat idea, passed 100% by Democrats. It was and is 100% opposed by Republicans. Democrats, mainly Harry Reid and the Senate, rejected every Republican effort to fix this mess. Now they own it, 100%.

Welcome to the age of DemocratCare.

Except for the fact that this is actually the Heritage Foundation’s creation in response to Hillarycare, enacted years ago by a Republican in MA who in 2007 said it should be a model for the nation, Jim Demint backed that notion and further stated, “the individual mandate is making freedom work for everyone,” and Scott Brown voted for it. I’m sorry, do these details get in the way of your talking point?

Cap, the individual mandate is costing people their coverage, their job and their hours. If that is your idea of freedom working, I need your dictionary and I’ll go back to 1st grade so I can relearn new Obama.

FFA – not my definition – Jim Demint defined it that way back in 2007. The individual mandate is and was the very heart of the Republican response to Hillarycare which was indeed authored by the Heritage Foundation. President Obama paraded it out there thinking he would actual get Republican support from a Republican concept that was put in practice by? You guessed it, a Republican in MA (Romney). But, of course, this is the most obstruction any President has ever met (#1 goal from the mouth of Mitch McConnell was to make President Obama a 1 term President), so President Obama’s premise fell flat.

Seems to me the repubs would have more then supported the plan as they drafted it.

They couldn’t support it because of the Caucus Room Restaurant meeting that took place the night President Obama was inaugurated (first term). They took a pledge to have a Taliban like tactics to block this President. Newt Gingrich admitted to being a part of this meeting on the Thom Hartmann show. Here is an interesting article form Mr. Hartmann providing detail:

Now, I hear you on the blame game. I guess I would explain to your insureds their policies didn’t meet the standards required by the law, and therefore, are not in compliance. Hence, the cancellations.

Good article on Heritage Foundation and it does talk about some differences:

He also wants a $5000 Ded with 100% co Pay which he cant have. Sounds to me like the new policies are take away freedom of choice of what he needs. This all comes at a price tag of more then 2X the premium.

Sounds to me like he is being told what he has to buy taking the freedom of choice away from him.

I agree, it’s a tough sell for someone who is selfishly thinking of only himself/herself. I have a different perspective. It’s Christianity’s, “I am my brother’s keeper” mentality. I have been subsidizing others all these years and I am happy to do it. Now, with this law, certain types of subsidies are being defined and I think that’s what some do not like. Women have been subsidizing boner pills for a number of years now. If someone needs maternity care and isn’t getting it, I’m happy to pay a little more so they can have it. They are my fellow Americans, after all. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to see sick people walking around. When I do, I pray they can find the help they need. Well, this law isn’t perfect, but it is providing those individuals the help they need. This prayer, at least to some extent, is being answered. Medicare for all would be better, but I hear and read stories every day about how this law is helping people. I tend to focus on the positive.

Me, too. I have subsidized schools and recreational facilities for over 38 years even though I have no children and have never resented it. I am willing to help pay for others to have healthcare, but not to help billion dollar corporate farmers with subsidies or millionaires to shelter their millions.

Unfortunately the only way we get to pick and choose where our tax dollars go is to vote for someone we think will have our best interests at heart. If I get a job by lying on my job application I get fired. They, on the other hand, have no repercussions until we vote them out. And hope and pray we get someone else in there that will do what we want. This system sucks. Why can’t I allocate my taxes the way I allocate my United Way contribution? It would be interesting to see where people want their tax dollars spent and where they don’t.

He did manage to ram his Progressive Dream through with the help of his minions Nancy & Harry with bribery, threats, intimidation in the middle of the night behind closed doors and not one Republican vote and he expected everyone to eventually come around and like this POS legislation. The whole concept was flawed and then the implementation shows us how inept government is and why they should have kept their grubby hands off 1/6th of the economy.

Libby, above you have some interesting views and concerns on allocation of taxes. One thought I have had is why not make taxes completely voluntary? Why should the government get to use force tax us anyways? I think if people got to actually donate however much they wanted directly to whichever public organization they wanted the tax system would help further the causes important to society the most (they would receive more funding) and would take the force and violence used to collect (steal) money from people just because they were born in a certain part of the world.

This disaster, maquerading as a “health” plan unleashes one of the largest Middle Class money-grabs in history. While insurance carriers rush around re-arranging deck chairs on the Titantic, working class people are getting stuck with sky-rocketing premiums, no subsidies and unaffordable deductibles that will delay care for themselves and their children. In short, it’s a complete mess.

FFA, I found this article to be nauseating when I tried to read it. The mess is so colossal, it cannot be fixed no matter how many “fixes” they try to invent. Sending people to company websites to get coverage is not giving any option except to take what is offered at whatever rate they will charge. I had to laugh the other day when Obama had his teleconference with his supporters to try to shore up support. They had glitches in the teleconference as well. He finally proudly proclaimed that 100 million had signed up through the exchanges. I guess he had been smoking some crack because he was only off by a factor of 1,000. Another wierd incident happened. Sebelius was in Florida trying to get someone signed up with a Navigator and before they could get very far, the site went down. I am really confident they can get their act together, aren’t you?

Celtica, Old School works. So, why cut the agent out of the picture? All he had to do was to build the IRS portion and use the infrastructure that was already working. Agents could have rolled their clients in a timely manor and not have everyone jump at once.

To accomplish the exchange rater, there are quick raters that Health Agents use that work just fine.

Just to open the flood gates and hope for the best is the worst kind of plan.

A few years after everyone was rolled over, then cut then agents out. Instead – huge mess at an even bigger expense. I can kiss my high tax rate good buy for an even higher one.

Celtica – Solutions can come in many forms. One solution is to try the Obama method of “dictating” what he thinks should be done with the wave of his magic wand. His inexperience prevents him to understand the implications of his executive orders. There is a ripple effect of whatever short term, band aid, Obama tries to come up with.

The “best” solution, is to repeal the whole thing and replace it with well thought changes to the existing laws that promote competition across state lines and significant tort reform. Those two items alone would have a major impact on affordability.

Unfortunately, Obama, Reid and the rest of the Dem supporters are too proud to do what is right for ALL the people.

Hopefully, the 2014 & 2016 elections will change that. Until then, the Dems OWN IT and the raft of criticizm that comes with it.

Ingrity: The Tea Party didn’t object because of the details within the law itself — they objected to the whole thing out of sheer ideology.

What you have is the result of refusing to participate in the process. You can Monday morning quarterback all you like, but it isn’t going to change the current law.

If you don’t like the law, then the GOP needs to cooperate with the Democrats to change what they think needs fixing. But scraping the whole shebang is not on the table.

Integrity – Obviously, Pelosi’s comment is not as famous as you think because people totally twist the context of what was said at the time. Her contention was that the Senate “didn’t have a bill.” And until the Senate produced an actual piece of legislation that could be matched up and debated against what was passed by the House, no one truly knew what would be voted on. Now that I’ve straightened out history, I’ll address your other comment.

“The Repubs have ideas. They just don’t coincide with King Barack and Prince Harry. The Dems hold the keys right now, not the Repubs.” That is a cop-out. We know they don’t coincide, but that does not negate the fact that their JOB is to come up with something, debate it, and try to woo over the other side. Believe me, if they came up with something workable the Democrats would be all over it. They want this thing fixed. But the Republicans do not, so they sit back and let the thing implode. Great job for the country, guys.

In the 2014 and 2016 elections I hope everyone will vote the incumbents OUT OF OFFICE. We need to shake them up and the only way we can do that is with our vote. Then we need to give them term limits so we can get fresh, unjaded, talent in Washington on a regular basis. We need people that have passion, ideals, and haven’t yet been corrupted by Washington politics.

    Sabatoge! Not incompetentcy.

Most Insurance Company Shareholders are communist, elitest (anti social) who for decades have been attacking our economy. The industry has become too diverse and complex, by intentional design from it’s owner’s.

    It never was about profit.

It has always been about war.

If Russia, China and the like can not attack us militarily, because our citizens are armed and our military too advanced.

Then their only resolve is to attack our economy.

One meathod is to weaken it through the high cost and restricting accessibility of health insurance and other insurance.

The insurance industry, is the only industry that until now has been left unregulated by our Federal Gov’t.

THINK! We spend 3 times more on being afraid (insurance) of what if then city, state and federal tax alone! LOOK AT YOUR INSURANCE COST!

The ACA didn’t cause the rates to go higher. They were going higher anyway!!!!! There was no end to it! Not until they met there goal, which was not to provide medical coverage and sell insurance no one will use. At this point our economy will have collapsed.

What you see happening is the States trying to over ride our Federal Gov’t, because they have been corrupted and misled.

If people continue to be left without affordable insurance, and not just health insurance, then you’ll see people fall even more quickly into poverty.

Then have our brilliant congress people and senators get rid of the Welfare and assistance programs. Get rid of police officers and fire fighters. Replace them with low paid corrupt officials (like Mexico).

Then you have the perfect environment for civil war and chaos.

Let this go on for a few years and watch the collapse of our govt and our whole infrastructure.

After much blood shed from fighting ourselves.

Here comes China or Russia or both to say “we will help”.

    It’s never been about money.

It’s always been about trying to figure out a way to gain control over our most prized possession. OUR LAND!!!!!!

Just like a convicted criminal, locked away for life. All that is done to pass the time is to think, plan and execute.

Even if it is one pebble at a time.

All this will come to pass unless our gov’t can wake up to the truth and start acting humanely and with common good for all.

    Make INSURANCE AFFORDABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make the INSURANCE COMPANIES MAKE IT AFFORDABLE!!!!!!

    What arrogance they have.

Is it not obvious that our gov’t isn’t in control. It is the insurers and their owners.

Way..whatever – I am not buyng that the insurance companies are the cause of our problems or potential downfall. There are many other factors, with society, being one of the biggest perpetrators to blame. Depravity and selfishnes permeates the mindset of “the govt owes me”.

Progressive liberal thinking feeds this machine with more and more entitlements creating the nanny state that we have today.

Why do you think the Dems don’t care about securing our borders? The more lower income people that come into this country that can eventually vote and keep them in power fuels the machine. That is the real reason they are pushing amnesty for the illegals aliens. They don’t care about the “poor children” who were born in this country to criminals. (That’s right, criminals, because they broke the law!)

They take kids away from other criminals, why not illegal aliens. Deporting them would go along way to improving the cost of healthcare and our economy. (Don’t give me “nobody will do those jobs” BS, either. If someone wants money bad enough, they will take those jobs. Maybe if the entitlements stopped, they would take those jobs.) By the way, I am not a racist. I believe and welcome any immigrant that wants to come to this country and apply for citizenship the legal way. Not by “butting in line” via sneeking in and getting amnesty.

A far as Obamacare, It is as I said it would be- a disaster and the liar in charge only makes it worse when he comes out to a podium and reads his remarks, from a teleprompter, prepared by some 20 something socialist working for him. What does anyone expect from a guy who doesn’t even know how many states there are in the United States-LOL, He thinks it is somewhere between 57 and 60- (See clip below).

I say let the Dems carry on and when Obamacare goes down like the Titanic then the GOP should be in control of both the house and Senate. Remember the Titanic was rated to float for 1 hour and 20 minutes if it met with calamity. It lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes or so. Same with Obamacare.

They see the Republicans sitting back and not being a part of the solution and they don’t like it. Libby,
This is a Democratic disaster and it should be noted as such. All the Democrats are trying to do is now get the GOP to be a part of the mess and they can then say- ” This was a bi partisan plan. Don’t blame us, blame all of us. And don’t forget to vote for Democrats at the next election. Next up Illegal immigration”.

The GOP has put forth healthcare reform. In fact I put a link for you the last time you brought it up. Fact is GOP reforms go back when the House and Senate were both controlled by Democrats.
I say let the Democrats own it and when it tanks the GOP could be in control of both the Congress and Senate and then do what should have been done long ago.
You are correct, the American people are smart enough to figure out who created this mess. Just look at Obama’s approval rating and look at the number of Democrats who are abandoning the ship and siding with Republicans

MultiCare is huge in WA; Good Samaritan Hospital, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, Tacoma General and Allenmore, Auburn Med Center, University of WA Physicians, Harborview Med Center, Swedish Hospital and Children’s Hospital.

Hmmmm….There are no major hospitals left to go to in our area that are in network! Harborview is where seriously accident patients are flown to. And now they are all out of network.

Blue Cross plays hardball on their contracts on fees and services for hospital charges. Hospitals and large practices say what they can perform services for and the minds seldom meet. It usually goes back and forth for quite a while before they compromise. There is a new gorilla in the room now called Obamacare and it is causing big problems. No wonder hospitals are reducing staffs and trying to figure out what to do. Blue Cross is the biggest player in this state and they want to dictate just like our President.

I am not 100% sure on this, but will take a shot, I thought a lot of this has to do with the lowering of Medicaid reimbursement? The only way you can get a subsidy is through healthcare.gov. If you know you won’t qualify for a subsidy, you’re better off going through an agent.

FFA – new marketing hook??? Forget the hassles with the website if you make over $45,000 single or $95,000 family. Personalized service and we do the shopping for you! Also, see how you can get on Humana’s list of referral agents. Take an ad out in the Yellow Pages under the health carriers you represent. Put it on Facebook. Run a radio ad or a billboard. I don’t qualify for a subsidy, so I’d much rather have someone else do the legwork for me and I’m sure I’m not alone.

FFA, Did you see that Obamacare also penalizes married couples filing jointly on taxes? If their combined income is too much, they can’t get a subsidy. It almost encourages people to not get married and just live together so they can get a subsidy separately. What a joke!

I have been told to look into filing separately. Stack all income on one (me) and claim all deductions on the other (my wife) with no income. She will qualify for the Medicaid and then I can just go alone on the individual policy. I don’t use the health ins so a High ded would suite me fine.
Besides, If I decided to cheat on my wife and knock up some young chick due to the weaken moral / ethical fiber that OBama seems to be promoting, I can get the pregnancy covered or if I decide to follow OBama down the no morals path, I can get the abortion covered.

Wonder what he is telling his daughters? Go screw whom ever you want and drink, drink and then drink some more. Don’t worry, its covered. Get knocked up as much as you want. Obama Care will pay for it all.

I don’t like judging other people’s moral or ethical fiber because I’m afraid mine might not stand up under extreme scrutiny depending on the judge. It’s not my job to judge others on those things. If you want to judge him by his actions, fine.

The ACA is a horrible fiasco I’ll agree. But saying he is all for his daughters drinking, screwing around, and having abortions is over the top. I’m sure he’s a loving father just like you. Let’s keep the conversation on how he’s doing, or not doing, his job.

Cap & Libby, everyone for that matter – I am very frustrated today. I don’t like letting people go but had to. Was told I could be in the mix on this mess but was lied to by our president. Now my carriers are disconnecting their FFM links as they seemingly don’t even want to participate.

I didn’t like Oprahs comments posted in a link in this forum. Appears she is the racist. She is just as bad as Obama shipping American dollars out of the country when there are hunger children in the home land. Look at the Filipinos send aid to the mid west when they are devastated. Whats Oprah done for her home state? I and my former partner that cant afford much at all these days did more then that fat cat did.

Guess its just my time of the month…. Bad first week back from vacation. Next week, movin on….

FFA – Oprah was asked ““Has it ever crossed your mind that some of the treatment of Obama and the challenges he’s faced and some of the reporting he’s received is because he’s an African American?”

Winfrey responded: “Has it ever crossed my mind? . . . Probably it’s crossed my mind more times than it’s crossed your mind. Just the level of disrespect. When the senator yelled out, ‘You’re a liar’ — remember that? Yeah, I think that there is a level of disrespect for the office that occurs, and that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African American.”

What’s racist about that comment? You’re not actually saying NO-ONE has an issue with him because he’s African American? You can’t actually believe that!

Opra defends him sending American dollars out of America when there are hungry people right here living in the same city she live in not lifting a finger to help out with the disaster that hit her home state.

Three years back, I had an outside – very outside – slim at best – chance – but a chance none the less -of quoting the condo assn. Opra lives in. A friend of a Friend was on the board at the time. I was told – way off the record – she would never approve of me due to my color. See where I am coming from… Not the first time I was victimized by discrimination. I applied for a captive carrier out of college. One of the company people sat me down for an off the record chat. Told me I was the wrong color.

I saw a grungy, long-haired guy with plaid shorts and striped shirt sitting at a hotel bar in the Caribbean. I said to my ex-husband “Wow. They’ll let anyone in here.” These girls were getting his autograph and I asked them who he was (he was sitting right next to me). He turned and told me I could ask him “straight on,” so I did. He told me he was an author so I asked him what he wrote. He picked up a travel book he had about the island and said he wrote it. I said (in my most smart ass way) “Oh. Do you always carry your own book around with you? I thought you’d be a rock star with that hair.” (I thought he must have been some heavy metal rocker.) He said (in his British accent) “You don’t have to be a rock star to have hair like this” and we went about our business When he left, my husband said “He looks like Rod Stewart.” We went back and forth with different rock stars until he said Robert Plant. The bartender turned around and said “He is.” I almost died! Rock star of the Rock Stars was sitting next to me and I insulted the s*it out of him! I ran after him and told him I knew who he was and I loved his music. He put his fingers to his lips and said “Thank you, darling, but shhhh.” That was my big brush with fame. That and the time I saw Bruce Willis and Jack Nicholson at Hard Rock in Las Vegas. I’ll save that story for another time.

If she has, it has not hit the media as of this Am news. I donated food – 5 cases of hot dogs, buns and 20 cases of bottled water. My former partner went to cook it as he was asked to help man the cat buss for a captive. I also donated my little grill and gas for it. I got a Thank You call from the head cat guy on that bus. Wondering why I would do that when I am not even representing that company any more. Simply put… people need help.

Something else that has me really bugged, I was told that all the cat busses that showed up had to pay a permit fee. They were there to help and do their jobs for the citizens of the communities that needed it. And they had to pay to pull the bus in.

            Absolutely disgusting…

Most people go on the internet now to find an agent and they make contact through the website or they call for quotes etc. We also have an electronic sign running 24/7 outside the office and we run creative messages on it to attract customers. It is well known that she was a big Obama supporter and she can’t stand the criticism he is getting for his policies/agenda so she ranted off that he is being picked on because of race. Listen, if any President was as bad as this guy has been, they would have been Impeached at least two years ago. He is not up to the job and has no clue how to govern so he just keeps pushing his leftist agenda, lying about everything and look what we have to show for it.

The man was elected and re-elected so I think most people wanted him to succeed as I did at first. It didn’t take long to see where he was coming from and what he wanted to do, so I determined quite correctly that he was not up to the job, was ruining the economy and then he had the guts to lie about his program over and over again and millions are losing their coverage as a result. Believe me, he deserves all the criticism being leveled at him and it is policy and agenda driving it.

I also had a nice Farm & Ranch close today for $10K. I don’t know how it is in other states, but FRO’s are difficult in Texas and expensive since we are a weather state and the property is unprotected. The underwriting requirements are a bitch and everything has to line up just right or it goes south. I had to go to 4 markets to get a decent quote so it was labor intensive, but it will be a good customer to have and get associated lines which makes it really $20K.

We do have an abundance of good land down here and he can make about as much selling hay as he can raising cattle. Polled herefords are a great breed and make very good steaks & roasts for someone to enjoy except for the dufus vegetarians out there. Most of our standards have an FRO department, but those people are different and the requirements to write it are hard to do.

Remember the Haiti earthquake and Hurricane Katrina? We gave to both and later learned much of the aid never made it to the people that needed it and was swallowed up in graft and corruption. We put up a bunch of the Katrina victims in our church gym until they could find some housing and assistance. Those people really appreciated what our church did.

This kid Lynch at NIU is making a solid push for Heisman consideration.

FFA, My encounter with the famous was in LAX traveling through there when in the Air Force. Down the terminal came the lovely Barbara Eden of I Dream of Jeannie fame. She had her entourage along with her and she was looking mighty good to a young man. She actually boarded the same plane I did, but was obviously in first class and I was in coach, but I did walk by her and got a good look. Wow, she looked better in person than on TV.

Well, Libby must be in the doldrums this morning. Her vaunted Broncos that couldn’t be beat managed to blow a 24-0 lead against Brady & the Pats and lost in OT. This was a tale of two halves. All Broncos in the first and all Pats in the second. FFA, I am not sure what to make of the Bears and Sargeant, how about those Lions? Stafford seems to be making rookie mistakes (4 Int’s?). My lowly Cowboys managed to pull one out in the frozen tundra of NY even though they tried hard to blow it. The Giants don’t have the mojo this year.

By the way, politicians didn’t promote promiscuity back in the 60’s. It was only hippies living in communes. Were you one of those love children? Woodstock would be right down your alley.

Are you that naive Libby? Did you not know that Blue Cross and the other big carriers were in bed with Obama on this fiasco? They are putting the squeeze on providers, pure and simple. Blue Cross headquarters are in Chicago, by the way and they hobnob with all the big Progressive politicians and have been in on this from the start. They also know they have to deal with the 80% MLR and will seek to limit what they have to pay. Cutting provider re-imbursements is just one way they do it. We are going to end up with few providers in Obamacare, rationing for Healthcare and that is reality.

The main difference was that Romo didn’t throw an ill advised interception at the wrong time like he did against the Broncos some weeks back. The good news from your side was that KC lost again so you didn’t lose any ground.

FFA, to Brady’s credit, he had about as bad a half as I have ever seen him play and came back and looked good the second half. Denver thought they could rest on their laurels and run out the clock. Hold the phone. You have to play 60 minutes in the NFL or you will lose. Prevent defense assures a defeat. Turnovers are real momentum changers. The Pats got them in the second half and saw the opportunity. That Grankowski is a whale of a tight end and he caught everything thrown his way.

Libby, your understanding of football is non-existent. Any team that builds a 24-0 lead by halftime and then gets beat is resting on their laurels thinking the other team would just give up and play out the game. The problem they had was it was the New England Patriots who had a quarterback that has several more super bowl rings than Peyton Manning who has only one. There was a lot of ground to be made up and Brady brought them back with a little help from the defense. That kind of lead should have held up had the Broncos continued to be as aggressive as they were in the first half. They weren’t, so they got beat just like a number of teams have in the past.

Even little brother Eli has more. None of them may ever win another one, but don’t bother telling me lies that Peyton has the more impressive overall record. It doesn’t wash with history. He is a good quarterback who has played on very good teams with good offensive lines. Denver protects him well. Libby, come on you put any credit on an Oprah Q&A? Besides that I thought he was HALF African American and HALF Caucasian? Besides that he has a Black Attorney General and 12 percent of his staff is black when only 10 percent of the US population is black. Oprah’s self interest in Obama ad the fact that she is turning hi now low approval rating is what is driving that comment. If he was still the messiah on high, she would have had no part of that question.
Maybe if Obama would stop ignoring his Bi racial ancestry and recognize both black and white maybe he might have a little more credibility instead of continuing to say he is a black man and snubbing his nose at the white side of his family. By the way, Boehner’s office put out the following info. When he went online to compare his current government health insurance to Obamacare, he found out that his premium doubled and deductible tripled. No wonder he voted against this travesty. Luckily for him, he can afford it, but what about the millions out there that can’t. If I were him, I would be wary that I would have my ID stolen by a creative hacker.

If you, like the other Republicants on this blog, were to actually open your ears and your minds, you would understand she was saying that until that generation dies (those people that grew up in that time where racism was totally acceptable) we would not be able to solve the problem of racism. That’s true of anything. This ends our social studies lesson for today.

Paula Deen used the N word 30 years ago and she lost her job at the Food Newwork. Obama gives Oprah awards that are about as usefull as him winning the Nobel PEACE prize. Espcially with all the drone attacks he’s been accounted for in the middle east. Obama has started a race war in this country and Oprah is throwing down that card every chance she gets. Period.

Sargeant, I have a theory on why Obama is like he is. He has deep seated conflicts on his bi-racial history. He doesn’t feel comfortable with blacks and he doesn’t feel comfortable with whites. Given his upbringing with his trailer trash mother, being raised partly in Indonesia, partly in Kansas by white grandparents, no strong father presence, no wonder he became a pot smoking community organizer and believer in Cloward & Pivin. The whole theory is to bring this country down and redistribute the wealth which has been the program from the start. The problem with the theory is that the country becomes Venezuela. No wonder he is having backlash big time right now.

Racist much, Agent? His “trailer trash mother?” What makes her trailer trash? The fact that she married a black man? She had a bachelor’s in anthropology and a master’s and Ph.D. in anthropology. This certainly beats your questionable economics “degree.” And while her parents were white and from Kansas, Obama did not live there. He lived mainly in Hawaii and Indonesia.

I would sy you’re ignorance is shocking, but it’s really not.

It will ultimately work out. We live in a country where a few bumps in the road are NOTHING. With all the talent in this country, the website will work out and we know health insurance companies love money… they will offer a lot of options in order to keep making money. Fortunately, the current crop of nay-sayers out there can not stop America from her greatness and ability to provide options to Americans in need of affordable health insurance. Now, if we could only get the medical community to stop inflating their prices….. another story for another day!

Does affordable mean double or triple the premium, no site security for applicants to keep their ID from being stolen? What do you propose for the millions who are losing their insurance coverage? How bad does it have to get when it is projected up to 100 million will lose it when the Group cancellations start next year? Does this law expand or shrink coverage for America? What about the doctor/hospital problem with network shrinkage? Will that help or hurt access to care?

Dozens of whoppers about keeping the plan if the people like them, keeping their doctor if they like him, reducing premium $2,500 for families, lying about the website security and promising to fix it by 11-30. This is only a partial list. I think the American people now have it figured out since they basically think he is dishonest and untrustworthy. Poor Libby & Celtica are still playing their lemming role to perfection.

Yes, he said you could keep your plan if you liked it. And technically that was true according to the grandfather clause. THAT is why you can’t prove he was lying.

And I’ll say it again because you are either stupid or hard of hearing. I AM NOT saying he did not lie. I’m saying technically you can’t prove it.

Libby, the lie was made a lot worse when he came out and recently added that the grandfather clause applied only if there hadn’t been a change in the policy since 2010. Out of the library of speeches, I challenge you and Ron to find one in the several dozen statements he made on Keeping the policy if you liked it and keeping your doctor if you like him. That is one insidious lie made to try to salvage this travesty. The House has all this proof, all they need to do is act on it. It is much worse than Nixon & Clinton lies because those lies didn’t affect 320 million people who may lose their healthcare because of it. I think they may wait until the approval ratings enter the 20’s before doing anything.

Affordable Care? From what we are hearing, it seems the only folks who will be able to afford Obamacare are those who will receive subsidies. Those who had purchased health insurance for decades are losing their policies and must now purchase a more expensive (higher premiums & deductibles) policy with less meaningful benefits (fewer doctors – some retiring – and hospitals being excised from some plans) but adding other benefits not needed by many (birth control, pre-natal care, etc.). We are being told that these new plans are better and the old plans are sub-standard. Well, if you change standards, you make things “sub-standard”. This whole program has little to do with health insurance and everything to do with the government finding an excuse to further control the daily lives of its citizens by forcing them to do what it deems best. The government has managed to destroy the voluntary health insurance market and force everyone (except, of course, favored groups) onto a one-size-fits -all policy. Because they wanted to get some 30 million uninsured people insured, (and estimates indicate that only an additional 15 million might be added to the insured rolls) they destroyed the coverage for some 255 million people who had health insurance and who will now pay more for their insurance. (Anyone remember “No increased taxes on the middle class”) As former WH Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel once said, “Never let a good crisis go to waste” to which one might add, “….even a manufactured one”. That seems to be the case here. No crisis really existed except in the minds of utopians because, although there are a lot of uninsured people, they can still get medical care – the cost of which is already passed along to insurers and paid for by those who purchase insurance. Now, besides that cost, we’ll be paying for the additional bureaucracy needed to manage the whole program including those who will be calling the shots on disputes over coverage and, worse yet, making life and death decisions, then making up for the inevitable financial short-falls with additional taxes.

I agree Rusty. This appears to not be an expansion of healthcare, but a reduction with millions getting canceled. What happens if people that have serious illnesses cannot find coverage by 1-1. I think there will be a lot of deaths because there will be no insurance payments available to doctors and hospitals. Obama said he was good at killing people. This is just a further example of how he will do it. How desperate will it have to get before people will demand Impeachment proceedings to begin?

Telling the people that they can keep their plan if they like it while knowing the law requires plans to be cancelled is Libby. Telling the people that if they like their doctor, they can keep him knowing the networks will shrink is Libby. In addition, hiring cronies to design a website that doesn’t work and will not protect privacy and costs 100 times more than it should is a very serious violation of trust. No wonder a majority of the people now do not think he is honest and trustworthy and his approval rating is in the toilet. Nixon and Clinton got into trouble for a lot less. This man needs to be held accountable for the Progressive travesty he brought to this country.

Clinton lies in front of Congress (granted about something that was nobody’s business but he and his wife’s.)

While I’m not saying I believe he was completely truthful; technically, there is no proof Obama lied. They built the grandfather clause into the law, so his statement about keeping your plan was too broad – but not technically a lie. I’m sure you’d need more evidence than that for impeachment.

            Just sayin.

Hey Always, Breaking News! Justice Roberts and the Supreme Court have agreed to hear the case on Birth Control in Obamacare. There have been a lot of legal challenges filed and Hobby Lobby did get a favorable ruling from the Appeals Court. The Supremes are going to get another chance to do the right thing. If the law wasn’t ruled Constitutional, perhaps they will at least ban the Birth Control mandate. Given the current political atmosphere and the huge downturn with this tragedy of a law, perhaps they will rule favorably for companies. I don’t know if it will help with all the cancellations due to go out on Group next year and the prospect that 80-100 million will lose their coverage.

Libby, it has always been about “Choice” with me and any other business operating in this country. Hey, if an employer of their own free will wants to include it in their plan, more power to them. The problem with Obamacare is that there is no choice at all. A business who doesn’t do the mandate is fined out of existence. You know what, insurance markets for years have offered cafeteria plans where employees can make selections on the level of benefits and the cost associated with them. How about that for a change? We could rid ourselves of almost every mandate in this travesty and be a lot better off. Keep the failure to launch provision and put the PreX’s in Pools and we have something to hang our hat on.

I totally agree with that approach Agent. The employer rarely pays 100% of the employee cost anymore. Let the employee choose the coverages he/she wants and they pay the difference. The only caveat I would add is the employer HAS to offer them. I don’t think an employer should be able to dictate which coverage the employee buys or does not buy.

Do we finally agree on something?

Libby, do we finally agree that the government should not be mandating/dictating to business what they should offer on their plans? This should all be voluntary on the businesses. They can either choose to do it or not. If it is that important to an employee or prospective employee when it is not offered, they can go find an employer who does offer it. By the way, birth control is not that expensive. Back in the day, families did not expect employers to foot this expense. We took care of it ourselves.

I’m sorry Obama, if women want abortions, they should have to pay for them by themselves. An abortion should NOT be a part of a health care plan. The two have nothing to do with each other. One is supposed to provide health – the other is to provide end of a life.

Is ADD covered FFA? By the way, the President came out today trying to shore up his fiasco and said that 500,000 were poised to get Healthcare under Obamacare. Somehow, he failed to mention that 5,000,000+ lost their Healthcare due to Obamacare. I think he is about 4,500,000 behind and sinking rapidly. Good luck to the applicants on Healthcare.gov. I hope they still have their identities a few months from now and hope their info results in actual coverage since a lot of it has been lost in the wonderful website.

So Always, the President is out on the left coast raising money for his favorite leftist minions for their re-election campaigns and was in Seattle yesterday. Have you had a laugh today? He said he was not particularly ideological. This man has not drawn a non-ideological breath since he has been in politics. Of course, the true believers out there will say he is doing a fine job and even though his favorablity rating has sunk to new lows, we should just get off his back.

You’re spot on, Agent! Approval rates are in the tank and he’s still out there peddling. And poor Libby is besides herself with her silly attacks and 3rd comments. The ACA is sinking fast and even some democrats are now jumping overboard. Agents who are out there selling this stuff haven’t even gotten paid for the apps they “wrote” because the accounting portion of this monstrosity hasn’t even been completed or even created yet so premiums have not even been collected. There’s no money coming in to fund the ACA! I was told this information from Richard Kemp who is the agent friend of mine who is a navigator. The agency he is working at has other plans to try to sell his clients who have had their policies canceled by the ACA because they were not in compliant to the new regulations of the ACA – hence – abortions, prenatal care, maternity, in vitro fertilization & pediatric dental, did I miss anything? Us 50 year and older folks are really going to enjoy this new plan and all the extra benefits we didn’t have on our old plans; aren’t we? And December 1st is only 5 days away. Gee, what are the odds of it being completed by then??

Silly attacks and 3rd comments? The only thing that comes remotely close to an “attack” is my response to your FOUR ridiculous posts about abortion on a site talking about the federal exchange.

You must have pulled that one out of thin air after a holy roller meeting over the weekend. Get any snake bites?

Libby, Abortions are part of the ACA coverage. Whether you like it or not it’s not a silly subject and WE should not have to pay for anyones abortion, especially when it’s against our beliefs. Tho shall not kill. You do know about the 10 commandments; don’t you? The topic line on this blog have strayed off before so don’t get so upitty with me. I’m sure you’ve strayed off the topic before too miss high and mighty.

Since you believe in “Thou shall not kill” are you against all wars, the death penalty, killing in self defense or protecting your own family, and every other other killing?

Ron, I’ve never been a fan of wars and if someone broke into my home and tried to do me hurt me I’d try to kill them first. The commandment actually reads “Thou shall not murder” not kill. If you kill someone who is trying to kill you or your family, then that is selfdefence and not murder. As for people sitting in jail on death row – well, it does take a lot of our tax dollars to house them but then a lot of innocent people are sitting in prison as well, so I’d have to say no to the death penatly. Abortions are murder and should not be part of a healthcare.

Newsflash, Always. Abortions are currently covered by most medical plans. It’s called a D&C and is used not only for abortion, but also for polyps and pre-cancerous cysts. Are you saying it should be OK for a doctor to perform a D&C for polyps, but not for abortion? If so, you would be breaking a law by the name of Roe v. Wade. Abortions are legal in this country, so if you’re going to cover D&C’s for cysts and polyps, you have ot include them for abortions. Like it or not.

Yes FFA, he hasn’t done enough damage this week so he thought he would go out and hobnob with Hollywood, preach his illegal immigration strategy, collect some money from the $35,000 per plate dinners to raise some funds for his minions re-election campaign. In between, he sold out the Israelis & Saudis to the Iranians who got quite a deal and they don’t even have to dismantle their nuclear facilities. Those centrifuges will keep on spinning and Netanyahu knows he is on his own if he tries to do anything about them. This President is wagging the dog big time and hopes the focus shifts to other issues than his signature legislation which is in the crapper. What will people do on 1-1-14?

Actually webmeister Ron, I can actually think and use common sense and don’t need a website to do it unlike you. If you had gotten any good out of your Economic studies, you would have been able to see through the Keynes theories and known they were bad for the economy and would lead to economic ruin and huge deficits. It apparently went in one ear and out the other with you just like it has with politicians who think they can spend their way to prosperity.

            Agent,

You never responded to a couple of my posts from a separate article.

President Reagan incorporated some Keynesian economics too. Are you prepared to call him a pea brain?

            http://economistsview.typepad.com/economistsview/2012/06/paul-krugman-reagan-was-a-keynesian.html

            http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-06-21/ronald-reagan-s-accidental-keynesian-stimulus-echoes.html

You did not debunk my premise that Conservative Republican President Reagan DID NOT LOWER SPENDING AND DEBT. I do not care why. If President Obama is responsible for spending, debt and deficit, so is President Reagan, period.

Here are some more eye opening numbers about our debt by party. Since President Carter, Democratic Presidents have added a toal of $6.776 trillion and Republican Presidents have added $9.263 trillion. By average per year, Democratic Presidents have added $423.5 billion per year and Republican Presidents have added $463.15 per year.
