GetMyBoat, a global peer-to-peer and boat rental and charter marketplace, has launched a global boat rental insurance product. Customized coverage is offered to boaters who book through the company or through any other service or platform.
Policies can be purchased by the day, the week, or any duration desired and is underwritten by a a worldwide yacht charter insurance provider. Coverage is also not limited solely to the GetMyBoat rental marketplace. Insurance can be purchased by companies, private owners, and renters nearly anywhere in the world, with plans starting at $29 per day.
“We have a mission here at GetMyBoat — to bring boating to everyone. Regardless of the location or type of boat, we want to get people off the land and on the water,” said Bryan Petro, CIO of GetMyBoat.
Each policy includes protection up to $1 million and includes $25,000 for each member of the crew and the captain.
Owners on GetMyBoat rent or charter their underutilized watercraft — from kayaks and catamarans, to powerboats and sailboats — in more than 2,000 locations worldwide. Boaters browse watercrafts that meet their specifications and budget, then reserve online or via the app for iOS or Android. GetMyBoat offers 18,000+ watercrafts in over 90 countries.
