It would appear that this runs counter to the IJ forum in which only 2 posters in 10 believe that there is climate change.

For those that liked this comment, do you realize that DR just “slammed” you?

Personally, I think the majority of the IJ comment board are far more intelligent than to believe the earth is flat. Some of their other opinions, however..???

Integrity, Libby has stated many times that Obama has been honest and forthright with the country. Events of the past 6 years seem to refute that, don’t you think?

A poll (and a challenge!) for IJ posters:

Reply to this comment with “Yes” if you believe the climate is changing

Reply to this comment with “No” if you don’t believe the climate is changing

Do not reply to this post with any other comments (such as “Is it man-influenced climate change? Can the scientists be trusted? Boo to the Republicans. Boo to the Democrats. Boo to the other posters and now let’s insult each other.”) Start a new comment for any of that stuff, please.

Just wondering what the ratio is for IJ posters who do and do not believe the climate is changing.

    I’ll start…..

“I don’t let him get away with insulting me, sorry.” That’s your prerogative, Agent – but it’s also something I find disturbing about the majority of people who comment on this site — very few will try to take the high road, let an insult slide by, and try to continue to discuss rather than argue.

I’m not saying either of you is right or wrong (who fired first? does it matter? who fired last? does it matter who posted the most inappropriate insult of them all?) just that it took 2 posts (one of them mine) to see the first person throw out an insult in a “yes/no” only question and 2 more posts for the next person to throw back a retaliatory insult.

3 people besides me answered so far – two of them couldn’t even give a “yes” or “no” to a simple non-partisan and non-inflammatory question. I find it unlikely that any useful dialogue will actually happen here if we can’t even get 3 people to write either just a “yes” or a “no” without insults being hurled around.

Rosenblatt, if you had been insulted as many times as I have on this forum, had your moniker stolen to post trash, been a victim of ID theft, you would get tired of it as well. I was prepared to give my one word response to you without further comment. How about calling out Stan instead of criticizing me for a change? All you had to do was tell him to knock it off.

Agent – Quit whining. You give as good as you get on IJ. You are incapable of a one word response and always have to get your snide comments in at the end of any post. I’ve told you that’s the reason you don’t get many thumbs up from me. I’ll start out agreeing with you and then you get nasty at the end and I have to thumb you down. Childish behavior.

Rosenblatt..I’ll try another simple question/poll to see if anyone can answer yes or no.

Should the protests about the Ferguson situation continue even though there was undisputable evidence that the cop was justified to shoot the victim? My response…NO.

I have been insulted here many times Agent, don’t you worry! Although you’re right – I have no idea what I’d do if someone on this site stole my identity. Okay, that’s not true. I’d do the exact same thing to them that I’d do to whomever stole my identity, but I’m now thinking “ID Theft” was your reference to someone posting with your name and not that someone here has illegally committed actual ID Theft against you.

Either way, I called out the person who posted the first insult and I called out the second person who insulted the first guy back. I don’t think I can be any more fair.

First you get upset that I didn’t call him out – which I clearly did – and now (instead of you actually acknowledging that I had called him out) you say I need to call him out BY NAME. Geez. When I wrote “that’s sad” and only 1 person besides me had replied, I’m pretty sure everyone knew I wasn’t referencing myself. So I didn’t use his actual name. Big deal. I clearly called him out. Your “call him out by his name” post is pretty petty IMO.

BTW, Rosenblatt–your posts are extremely well-written, thought- provoking, and respectful, regardless of whether I agree with all of them. It’s obvious to me that you have done your homework on the issues. We need more posters on here to follow your example and make their points while keeping things civil. Take care and God bless.

Rosenblatt, I guess you weren’t around when the ID theft was perpetrated by the notorious boogereater and broadcast all over the forum and added to by Libby and Ins102, threatening, bullying to their hearts content. I am not a good enough geek to steal the identity of someone. I will leave that to the leftist trolls, but it has no place on an anonymous forum. These people should all announce their names, emails etc so we can see who they are and see how they like it to have their identity stolen and broadcast and made fun of.

Agent – so your identity was revealed, not stolen. I was there for that and got confused now since you wrote that someone actually stole your identity.

There’s a huge difference between the two. Please try to use the words that accurately describe the situation rather than phrases which don’t.

Identity theft = crime. Revealing someone’s identity on an anonymous commenting system = legal.

I’m not saying what was done to you was right or wrong, just that it’s not identity theft like you think.

We already know that Libby, Boogereater, Stan and Ins102 do not know right from wrong based on their comments. I thought you might be a little different. This is supposed to be an anonymous forum and insulting, mocking my name and reputation should be completely off limits.

Agent – that’s a big reading comprehension failure you just made, and that’s not the first time I’ve had to re-explain to you what I actually wrote as you read way more into the comment than what was actually written.

I decided NOT to say if I think it was right or wrong, which is totally different than me saying I don’t actually know if it was right or wrong.

Just like when you said I needed to call out Stan (and subsequently call him out by name when I said I already called him out), I’m getting very tired of re-posting what I already wrote and having to explain to you that my words are being selected carefully to express myself clearly, rather than me selecting words with a hidden meaning for people to try and figure out.

Please take my words at face value and READ THEM – please do NOT take my words and try to READ INTO them for a deeper meaning. I say what I mean and I mean what I say.

Hi Libby–I am not saying that climate change doesn’t exist. I just don’t believe that although mankind may be contributing slightly to it, there are other reasons for it to be happening. There are volcanos around the entire planet that emit gasses every day, etc. I just don’t believe that we create so much emissions that that is what is causing the climate to change. It is and will always be a never ending process of the earth and our atmosphere.

In the US, the science of climate change is subject to “belief”? And this feeds into policy? Should we run similar polls to see how many people believe the Earth is flat?

Yes, the climate is changing and man is to blame. The Earth is going through it’s cycles too though.

Here is a very interesting link as to why elephants can save the forests in Africa and how the people there are briging the grasslands back into existence.

Libby, I hope you’re able to open this. I think you have the same passion for elephants as I do. It’s such a tragedy that 40K elephants lost their lives over a theory that was completely wrong. My heart breaks when I think of all the culling that was done in the 80s. Horrible, just horrible.

I suppose by these logics we shouldn’t trust half the things Libby says correct?

As for you Stan, you’re a funny guy. Why don’t you stop by the gym I go to, if you really live in WA? You shoot off your mouth quite a bit. I defended my physique after you called me lazy physically and mentally. I am not lazy, and I do more than you in every way. This isn’t an opinion. It’s a fact. Most days after I get home, I have no time to do practically anything, while you play your xbox. I’m not one to run my mouth if I don’t have the full ability to take someone out, if you live in WA let’s go workout together some time. I’ll give you a challenge: Lift half the weight total that I do on all the lifts, and I’ll post something of your choice on here to humiliate myself.

            Dumb bell curls: 60’s for 3 65 for 1
            Straight bar Curls: 110 for 6 2 for 125.
            Deadlift: 495
            Squat: 455
Over head Dumb bell military: 100’s
Incline dumb bells: 120 for 4, there are no 125’s just 130 which I can’t lift yet.
Dumb bell flat: 120 for 4
Skull Crushers: 165 for my 1 rep max. Yes. That is 2 45 plates and a 25 on each side with a 25lb bar going over my head. I would be shocked if you could even do 90lbs given what I see in the gym.
Over head dumb bell tricep: Not even sure what my max is here. 80’s for 6 isn’t hard. I’ve also done 100 for about 5.
Leg Press laid back on the ground: Not sure what my max is here. I’ve had 9 plates on each side, actually going down to my chest. That is 810 lbs. This isn’t a muscle building lift though, it’s just for variance. The squat is a better builder, as well as deadlift. I rarely use machines to gain strength.
Shoulder shrugs: 455 for 5. I would be shocked if you could do 2 and a half plates, which is 275.

Calling me lazy when you have never met me is a mistake. Do my numbers and my routine stick out in my lifts yet, to show I have quite the workout routine? You are such a child.

Agent is correct Libby. I could tear his arm off, and proceed to beat him with it.

I can do every weight I just listed.

            Meet me at the gym.

I am not lazy and you have no reason to believe that I am.

This is old kid. Very old.

There is a reason I said you can’t do half my lifts, I know what “normal” lifters are in the gym, and they lift half what I do.

Just the other day I took a 45lbs wheel (that’s what us old guys call a 45lbs weight you put on the barbells in the gym) and did a negative shoulder routine. In other words, 10 reps, then held the weight straight out from my body, with my shoulders holding it up for upwards of 20 seconds.

A guy basically was so flabbergasted by it, because most people would consider no one can just hold that weight up, he proceeded to ask me for tips.

Every number I just listed I can do. They aren’t just made up, you will find they all fall in line with a power lifter of my weight. I’m an ex power lifter turned body builder, so I don’t kill myself from the weights.

By the by: The secondary squat machine in the gym which is not a leg press I put 1000 lbs on the machine to train up my squat to 600 lbs in the past. I probably can still do almost 900 on that machine.

You’re just a brat who doesn’t know how to lift first off, and second off, how to actually use your brain.

If you did graduate, it’s no wonder an indoctrinated mind like yours can’t find a job. You can’t think for yourself.

I would really love to see the look on your face with both of us at the gym.

It’s an all too familiar look. Something worth noting:

The weights I put are even more unbelievable due to my weight.

No one lifts what I do and I’m proud of it, other than the body building team at my gym. They already once made the mistake of thinking I was irrelevant.

I then proceeded to change my routine to match theirs, and now every single chest day and deadlift day I make a point of showing the guy who was rude that I out lift him for my weight class in every single lift except the squat. I’m careful on that one now so I don’t get a serious injury, whereas he still lifts 600 which is quite impressive.

            Also Stan,

You don’t know what a skullcrusher is?

            http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/BBLyingTriExtSC.html

I’m guessing you are a troll. I don’t make up routines.

I have a five day split to maximize my potential.

It is bad to do an extension twice in a row, it limits gains, same with pulls. Legs need to be as far apart as possible to ensure the maximum strength and size gains.

            So my days are:

            Mon – Off

Tues – Just Chest movements. Flat barbell, incline barbell, decline barbell, and machine fly, This day is short intentionally for a few reasons. It’s to build more muscle for the chest, rather than breaking down muscle with a lengthy workout. It also ensures I can still do a mass movement in a workout and due to the rest of the workout placement with extensions and pulls, it has to be this way to ensure I have a 5th day that still gains muscle and does not impede muscle development for the next day. It also ensures that every day starts with a mass movement. Curls don’t build much strength alone for example. You need to start with a mass movement. For this day, each of the chest routines are all mass builders, and it’s a short day. Which makes it enhanced.

Wednesday: Deadlift (mass movement), back, abs routine. Dumb bell rows, bent over barbell rows, wide arm and narrow grip pull ups, followed by machine pulls of the same for variance. All these are pulls. I throw in lower ab raises because the dead lift actually uses those abs for stabilization, and this increases the gains in the abs. This may sound like a short workout but again, I am emphasizing mass gains.

            Thursday: Off.

Friday: Chest dumb bell and biceps. Chest Incline dumb bell, chest flat dumb bell, chest incline fly, and chest flat fly, super set with a bicep routine for each. So for example: I super set chest incline with hammer curls, then I super set chest flat with twists, I intentionally do dumb bells for both chest and bicep this day. Remember my other chest day with just barbell? Barbells build more mass. I don’t want to inhibit my progress by putting barbell and dumb bell together, and furthermore, doing this ensures I have a building day, and then a day which is more oriented to shaping. I also put forearms in here. I do dumb bell for this too, one is leaning over a bench with my hands just over, and pulling my hand up toward my body, the other is standing with my hands to the sides pulling the weight upward with just my forearms, not biceps. I throw in negative dumb bell movements. In this case, I bend down, and stand up to get the weight up, and then I release it slowly with a weight I cannot pull up with my biceps to build the negative muscle, I do this for 4 reps. That’s all I need. It will likely get my bicep curls to 70 soon. I then throw in a dumb bell between my legs at 60lbs, and do weighted dips for decline chest shaping movements. It widens my chest where it connects to the sides by my back. It gives a more full look to the bottom of the chest.

Saturday: Squats. For this I need to make sure I don’t overdo the legs so growth goes well, this also keeps it far away from the dead lift. But it also separates the previous extension and pulls from the next day’s extension and pulls. I do a standard squat, up to 455 pyramid style and super set abs (used in the squat, much like the deadlift it is the negative muscle used for the squat) and calf raises. I use 3 45lbs plates, and a 25lbs to make sure I hit more in tune with 8 reps. Then I go to the leg press, super set with lunges. I used to do 80lbs, but right now I’m hitting 60lbs each arm to hit more reps. I then go to leg extensions, and hamstring curl machine.

Sunday: Tricep / Bicep / Shoulder day. I start with the shoulder shrug (mass movement) super set with a military press barbell, 45lbs and a 10 on each side. Then I super set skull crushers, 145lbs up to my max, with a barbell straight bar curl. I use the “easy bar” (nick name for the curved bars) for a bicep forearm curl, kind of like a jerk and I super set this with a dumb bell shoulder routine of 60 lbs. I alternate days here. One week I will use the straight bar on lower weight, one day the dumb bell. In other words, 100lb dumb bell shoulder press on days where it takes lead, 60 lbs when I do it after the barbell military press. The forearm has two purposes, one the forearm, but it also works the inner section of the bicep as well to shape it, rather than the negative dumb bell which shapes the alternate side. I super set forward and rear laterals. This I do 40 and 25lbs respectively. I throw in a secondary tricep, either bent over and extending my tricep with 40lbs behind my back, or with an overhead dumb bell, 80lbs for 6 up to 100 lbs for 5. I then throw in the shoulder raises with the 45 lbs wheel. So I’m doing 3 sets at any time. I hit cables for the negative form on biceps, and do slow twitch high rep slow movement curls. You have probably seen this movement. It is where the two cables you pull look like you are just showing off your biceps, but it’s a good negative routine.

The chest bicep and the shoulder days are the most intensive on the body building. The dead lift, squat, and only chest days are for mass / strength building.

But I bet you don’t know the difference.

All this with an hour of HIIT cardio each day.

I could kick your @$$ and am not lazy. This is an extremely good routine. It makes me outperform all my peers. You should probably take it. Heck, I’ll coach you if you want. This isn’t including all my variations. I could show you a lot.

I’m not all mean, just when I debate politics with people like you.

The best part in that routine I put is that the shoulder day, actually has multiple mass movements to burn more calories. If you make a workout with mass movements short, you will build muscle. If you make them long, you will burn fat, with a mass movement.

The shoulder shrug and the military barbell press are both mass movements. So is the military shoulder dumb bell, but as I said, I make one of the two lighter, in consideration of that.

Do the routine I just put up.

In fact I’ll even give you the variations. Do 3 sets warming up to a weight you cannot handle more than 6 reps, and then do 4 sets of that weight.

Take my routine. See what it does for you at the end of 3 months. I guarantee, if you are working out like I think you are, that you will make huge gains. If you haven’t had a good routine the starting section is always the most effective. I bet you would lose about 20 lbs in 3 months, and would increase all your lifts by about 20-30%.

            I know my crap. Boy.

Sorry to post so much Stan,

            But another thing:

If you don’t know what a skullcrusher is, and you legitimately have not done them,

There is no way you can be any bit good in the gym. This might be part of why you think I can’t do what I do.

You probably don’t do the primary mass building movements.

I would bet you do mostly what are considered secondary movements, for shaping, but they don’t work on their own.

            For example:

Bicep curls, shoulder laterals, dips, crunches, etc.

These are good secondary movements for shaping. But they do next to nothing alone. They add the little slight differences to a good body. They don’t do the primary sculpting.

Face it, you and your ilk ruined the greatest country on earth and youre too much of a pansy to face up and pay the bill, instead bitching about “liberals” and “lazy millennials” despite the fact that we havent been voting long enough to make a difference nor made any money with which to effect change.

Just throwing out my concern and wondering when it becomes about the future and our children and not who is right or wrong on the cause.

Wayne, I am not a scientist either but I do know that the nightly temperatures in inland cities is warmer than the surrounding rural areas. This leads me to think that population, auto emissions, and concrete create & retain more heat. Seems like if this can happen to one geographical area, it could happen to the entire planet over time.

We also have 6 billion humans on the planet now and they all take in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide, pollute etc.

Joe, the first big lie was by Al Gore promoting his Global Warming theory. When the earth stopped getting warmer, the new theme is man made climate change. Guess what, we have had Climate Change as long as earth has been here. We had Glaciers growing, receding when man was not even on earth. It is all just cyclical change and man has little to do with it. I wonder why our President went to China and agreed to reduce emissions 25% and China had to do nothing until 2030 and they and India are the biggest polluters on earth. Does that make sense?

I concur with Joe Alto. The climate is changing and always will change. The real question is “why?”. Is it a natural reoccurrence as it has done through time or is it because humans are the cause? while there is alleged science to support both positions, my opinion is that it is a natural occurrence. Anyone remember when the “scientists” said that we were about to enter another ice age?

The problem is that politics will find “evidence” to support their agendas.

We should all be good stewards of the earth’s resources.

What if the climate is changing naturally, the natural cycles are 400 years, and the changes to our rainfall, bodies of water, & waterfront cities will cause us harm. Do we ignore it because the solutions are “political” and the changes are “natural”? I just wonder what other kinds of solutions there would be?

SWFL: Obviously. if there is something we could do about it (limit increased construction, enhanced building codes, etc), we should. If the “political” solution is merely to advance an arbitrary agenda, then “no”. If the climate change is naturally occurring, there is nothing “manmade” that we can do about it.

Think about a hurricane, why don’t we try to explode a bomb in the eye while it is over water and away from the population to try to break it up? Our human solutions cannot alter nature.

How do we explain that there were almost no hurricane activity on the East Coast this year or Gulf of Mexico? Those boys at Colorado State were really scratching their heads on that. When they say the Arctic Ice Cap is melting, they don’t pay any attention that it actually increased in size. A better explanation might be that the earth may have shifted on its axis some. Also not man’s fault.

The government was afraid it would make them worse so they didn’t try it. Hi integrity. There was a great movie made years ago starring Paul Newman by the name of Cool Hand Luke, you may have seen it. One of the greatest lines in it was by the warden of the prison Newman was in. He had just been caught trying to escape and the warden said was “What we have here is a failure to communicate”. He then put Newman in solitary for a long time to get his mind right.

We seem to have the same problem on this forum. I speak for the Conservative position and they speak for Progressivism and we obviously don’t see eye to eye on much on any subject on this forum. They seem to be especially negative and insulting since they lost the mid terms so badly and have made every excuse they can think of on why the Obama minions lost so badly. One of the favorite excuses was that their side didn’t get out and vote. They didn’t consider that the country as a whole is tired of Progressive politics and Obama in particular so why vote? They say that they will be back in 16 so we should beware when Hillary shows up. Not so much! In Georgetown a few days ago before an auditorium that was less than half full, she made yet another blunder. She said we should be more respectful of our enemies and empathize with their position???? I kept seeing those black hooded ISIS guys cutting the head of Americans. We should make nice with guys that are trying to kill us? I hope the Republican candidate plays that tape over and over along with her recent statement that businesses don’t create jobs. I think that mini stroke has impaired her brain.

Hi Agent. Cool Hand Luke was a classic and I’ve used that line many times (sometimes on my kids!).

I agree with your statements above. If you recall, Obama said similar crap prior to ’08 about negotiating with Iran’s “I’manutjob”.

Honestly, it perplexes me to how blind the progressives are to Obama and company’s lawlessness. I’ve run out of fingers and toes to count the scandals. He is an example of how not to accept responsibility for one’s own actions. This is playing itself out on the streets of Feguson, NY and elsewhere around the country. It is always someone else’s fault. Very sad.

I hope and pray we can get some real leaders for this country. Boehner and McConnell are not real leaders and need to be removed from their positions. We need someone that will stand for the Constitution first and their personal agenda second.

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hannukah to all. Whichever may apply. If you are a non-believer, enjoy your December and time off. Be safe everyone.

The scientific hypothesis of the 1990’s was that man-made global warming was being caused by the use of fossil fuels generating significant CO2, a known greenhouse gas, resulting in the warming of the planet.

Over the past 20 years, CO2 levels have continued to increase and contrary to what, according to science, should have happened, the climate stopped warming; disproving the hypothesis.

Is the climate changing? Probably, but it always has and there is no scientific study that can determine what exactly is the best climate for the Earth. For the continued survival of the human species on the other hand, there is only a rather small window of acceptable climate. Can human activity have an effect on climate? I don’t know, probably not.

In the 4 billion plus year history of the Earth, man has been on it for an incredibly short time, even the dinosaurs had more than 4 times the history we have had thus far and a small rock wiped them out. With that small window of climate where we survive and the probability that the climate is changing, I hope we can have some say in planetary climate…before another rock comes along and ends our time here.

    http://www.climate.gov/news-features/climate-qa/why-did-earth%E2%80%99s-surface-temperature-stop-rising-past-decade

This is taken from the climate.gov website. When the climate stopped changing on a yearly basis 15-20 years ago, Global Warming was changed to mean the overall average climate over a period of a century or longer. I think this is some of the issue people don’t understand when debating. Our own Govt. agrees the climate has not increased in nearly two decades, but it did rise suddenly in the 60’s & 70’s. Why? Why did it start and why did it stop?

I am no scientist, but considering the other planets in our little galaxy are warming as well (you can find this on NASA’s website), it seems to be a natural cycle of some kind, that or the Martians are all using solar energy. :)

The other thing people don’t seem to understand is the history of glabal warming. From reviewing the link above, there is no doubt the average global temps have increased since the early 1900’s. That being said, why were they increasing before gasoline fueled engines? Why were the ice caps retreating before the industrial revoloution? We do know this has happened before, it’s the “why” we don’t know or understand. Everything to date has been speculation and there are just as many non-believers in global warming as their are believers. 8 in 10 may agree the global temps are increasing, but it doesn’t mean that 8 in 10 believe it is a man-made issue.

I think it’s quite possible the people living in the middle of the earth may have just turned up their furnace, or maybe they are burning more wood for some reason. We’ll find out why they went underground when the Rover on Mars finds the direct link between our two worlds, provided it doesn’t fall off the edge of the planet first. :)

It’s important we find out why, so that if there is anything we can do to have an effect on it we can do so. I don’t understand why everyone is so up in arms about this.

Agent, this is a meaningless quiz, dumbass. It’s reminiscent of the kind of quiz like they give in Seventeen magazine to see if you’re “totes going to get an adorbs boyfriend over the winter holiday lolz!”

      Answer: you’re not.

They are merely leftist ideologues who scream, rant and insult and they are Obama Messiah worshippers who think he can do no wrong and exhibit many of the same traits he does on the Narcissistic Personality Disorder which is a mental disease.

integrity, these Progressive Liberals don’t understand what Narcissim is since most of them fit the same behavior. They can’t take any criticism and it is well known Obama is about as thin skinned as they come. If we criticize his policies, we are racists. Gruber thought the American people to be “stupid” and couldn’t make choices about Healthcare. Progressives think they are smarter than everyone else and throw in the elitist mentality and you have a very bad situation. It is good that the mid terms stopped them in their tracks. Now, they can complain about Conservatives for the next two years after Obama vetos everything put in front of him. They will say Congress is dysfunctional and stymies Obama’s best efforts of using the pen to implement his Executive Orders.

Agent – you really need to stop posting fiction here. “Rosenblatt had no better luck than I did” — actually, I had WAY better luck than you. Numerous people have just posted a simple “yes” or “no” since my poll and only a couple (yourself included) have written insults with their reply.

In addition to your false statement that you had the same amount of luck as I with getting people to reply “yes” or “no”, your poll is absurd. My poll was based off this article, your poll was based off some random questions you pulled out of your a$$.

I am having a tough time taking you seriously — you got upset when I supposedly didn’t call out Stan, but you didn’t acknowledge I did it when I replied to you. You then got upset because I didn’t use his actual name, when anyone with basic reading comprehension skills can see it’s obvious I was talking to him — again, you didn’t acknowledge this. You get upset when I supposedly don’t know right from wrong, when I’m just deciding not to comment if something is right or wrong, and again you don’t respond to that. Now you lump me into your poll saying you didn’t have any better luck than I with this poll, and you’re just flat out wrong again.

I can’t tell if you’re a troll, someone who doesn’t have basic reading comprehension skills or someone who intentionally twists facts to suit your narrative. All I know is each time I respond to your absurd claims, you seem to ignore my posts and instead go on insulting people.

Stay classy, Agent (yup – this line is sarcasm)

Rosenblatt, you really need to review the posts before commenting. The very first response to your survey was incorrigible Stan insulting me. You didn’t call him out by name, but just expressed frustration. Stan is the one who should be called out by name every time he goes into his serial insulting mode. In fact, about 98% of his posts are insults since he has nothing to contribute. My post about not having any better luck than you was strictly about Stan since he was the first to post and insult and not follow instructions. By the way, the survey I posted are the classic traits of NPD which is quite evident with POTUS. It is a mental disease. Stay classy and try to read more carefully next time.

Agent – once again, you’re wrong and I guess I need to point it out to you again.

I bet you’ll either (1) not reply to this or (2) post a reply that says something different than what you just wrote with a line similar to, “what I wrote is not what I meant” and basically telling me that I can’t take your posts at face value and I need to read into what you meant to write but didn’t.

Stan was NOT the first person to post a reply to my poll. See the first post under my poll with the word “yes” in it? See the name? Yeah, that’s my name right there next to the first reply to my poll. After my “yes” is when Stan posted his reply, thereby making his reply the second response to the poll.

You can easily see that in the thread. Your claim that he posted the first reply is blatantly false and the evidence is right above you. His post was not the “very first response to your survey” as you falsely claim.

Also, I have already told you multiple times that while I didn’t call Stan out by name, anyone with basic reading comprehension skills can see he was the only one besides me who posted something so I must have been talking about him. Do you disagree it’s obvious I was referencing Stan’s reply? It should be obvious to anyone that since I wasn’t calling myself out for posting an insult (which I didn’t do), I was calling out the only other person who did reply at that time.

How is “Man, we can’t even get two comments before the challenge fails (replying with a simple yes or no, without adding additional comments or insults). That’s sad.” any different than “Man, we can’t even get two comments before the challenge fails (replying with a simple yes or no, without adding additional comments or insults). That’s sad, Stan.”?

What’s the big deal there kiddo? One freaking word got added. It doesn’t change anything. Anyone who reads the comments in order would’ve already known I was talking about Stan before I wrote his name at the end.

This is getting absurd. We can’t even agree if Stan made the first or second post to my poll yet the evidence is right there for anyone to see. Let’s try to stick to that point and see if we can actually agree that I posted the poll, then I posted the FIRST reply, which means Stan then posted the SECOND reply. Do you agree with me on that order? It’s worthless talking about anything else if I can’t even get you to agree about that.

Rosenblatt, you shouldn’t count yourself as the first comment since you put out the survey. I don’t know anyone who responds to their own survey. If you want to parse words, give poor Stan a break by not calling him out and to knock it off, that is your business. Let’s agree that he was the first other person to respond and did it with an insult and you didn’t call him out on it. A simple admonition by name is all that is called for. Stan didn’t get the message, obviously as he doesn’t at any time. He is merely an uninformed insulting troll of the highest magnitude.

“You shouldn’t count yourself as the first comment since you put out the survey”
Disagree. It’s still counts as a comment even if it’s done by the person who wrote the initial post.

“I don’t know anyone who responds to their own survey”
I did it to ensure my belief is taken into consideration when determining who on this site agrees the climate is changing. While I asked the question, that does not bar me from participating in the poll and having my vote count.

“Let’s agree that he was the first other person to respond”
Agreed as it’s the same freaking thing I asked you to agree to – he was the second person, right behind me, to reply to the poll. So, thank you for finally agreeing with me that I posted the first reply and Stan posted the second reply.

“and did it with an insult”
            Agreed

“and you didn’t call him out on it.”
            Disagree

“A simple admonition by name is all that is called for”
Says you. I say me posting the subsequent comment of “we couldn’t get 2 comments before an insult, that’s sad” clearly implies I’m referencing the only person who wrote an insult at that time.

This back and forth is going nowhere fast. Even when you agree with me, you can’t be an adult and just admit it – you have to tweak the words and ask if I agree with your statement instead. I’m done unless something new is brought up.

Hey Agent – I’m an adult, I can speak for myself.

First, you don’t give the full story — you could’ve admitted it was Stan AND you that both threw out insults in my poll, not just referencing Stan’s comment — you only reference what may help your current argument and leave the rest out (which is necessary to provide accurate context of what I’ve said).

Worse than that – you have already failed numerous times to understand what I’ve written (see the prior “reading comprehension fail” responses just in this thread). Telling others what I “obviously” had issues with when, on multiple occasions just in this thread, you yourself haven’t understood my intent or meaning numerous times.

I wanted to stay out of this thread, but you pulled me right back in when you decided you were going to speak for me and tell others what I meant or what I took offense to, knowing full well that you have not understood what I wrote multiple times in this comment section yourself. That’s disingenuous, to say the least.

“You said you didn’t know whether it was right or wrong to have my identity hacked and broadcast over the forum.”

Seriously – you’re bringing this up again? I DID NOT SAY THAT AND WE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT THIS. Here, let me post this again and hopefully it’ll sink in this time:

I decided NOT to say if I think it was right or wrong, which is totally different than me saying I don’t actually know if it was right or wrong.

Stop twisting my words around!! No, I don’t want you to apologize. No, I don’t want you to just “take it and give him a pass.” You know what I want from you? Two things, that’s all. (1) Admit I never said that I didn’t know if having your identity revealed was right or wrong, just that I abstained from commenting on it, which are 2 totally different things. (2) Stop calling it “identity theft” when nobody stole your identity (illegal), they just revealed it (legal). These are 2 totally different things, too.

“Who is being disingenuous here and being dishonest?” Dude, that’s you 100%. You keep claiming I said something different than what I actually said, and you keep calling it “identity theft” when nobody stole your identity. I’ve been patient, I’ve responded to every concern you’ve raised, some points multiple times, and you keep misquoting what I’ve said to suit whatever your current post is all about. Everything I’ve written has been true and honest, which clearly is a foreign concept to you.

PS – Didn’t I just get done telling you that I can speak for myself? “…just like the losers you voted for in the mid terms.” That’s absurdly wrong on so many levels, but I’ll just make one point to prove your wrong again – I didn’t even vote in the mid-terms!

Wait a second, Agent – sooooooooooo, (1) do you now agree that I never said I didn’t know if the identity reveal was right or wrong, only that I said I was not commenting on it? Do you now agree that you were wrong when you said twice that (basically) shame on me for not knowing right from wrong? (2) Do you also agree that your identity was revealed and not stolen? I’m waiting for your responses on that, then I’ll reply to your survey question.

FYI – I think it’s “hilarious” you keep saying I’m parsing words and implying that’s a bad thing. That’s EXACTLY what must be done when someone (you) doesn’t understand what another person is actually saying and misconstruing intent and meaning.

What a complete load of garbage. Of course the climate is changing, it’s not a question of belief, it’s a natural occurrence. Violent and apocalyptic change is what made the earth what it is today. It’s a fact that as the population increases, a natural strain on the ecosystem and resources occurs. How arrogant are some people to think that we can control this.

      b) “Of course the climate is changing” — apparently that’s not obvious to 2 out of the 10 in the survey referenced in the article and the informal poll taken in this comment section.

There are still people who believe the climate is not changing — regardless of the reason(s) why, such as man-made climate change or natural/cyclical climate changed — they just don’t believe any of the evidence which proves beyond a shadow of doubt that the climate is changing (as it has for 4+ billion years and will continue to do so well past the time the planet is habitable for humans).

The real problem is that people assume what climate change means. So the survey could be erroneous because it was not specifically defined.

Taken literally, of course the climate changes, all the time.

People assume what is meant by climate change (i.e. man-made vs. natural occurrence) and make their responses accordingly. Once again, it is usually the agenda that sets the tone of the survey.

Remember the adage…figures lie and liars figure. Obama is the master of this.

I saw an interview on Hannity with a Sheriff and he said if people don’t want to be harmed by Police, they should start obeying an officer when he says to get down on the ground and put their hands behind their back. Not one case of Police brutality has been made when people obey the officer. They can file a grievance in court if they have a problem. These people think they can resist arrest and charge an officer and nothing bad will happen to them.

How about you proving that Police brutality exists when the offender follows the orders of Police and gets down on the ground face down. I have not seen a single story in the newspapers, TV or internet where this has ever happened. I have seen numerous stories where they have taken a suspect into custody and hauled him off in cuffs after he followed orders. Hands up, hands behind your head, get on the ground are not difficult to understand. Cops would rather that things go peacefully and they don’t have to injure or kill someone, unlike the stories we see demonizing Police.

FWIW – if person 1 makes a statement and person 2 asks if they have any evidence to support their statement, it is NOT person’s 2 responsibility to prove person 1 was wrong.

I beg to differ. I definitely don’t think all police officers are bad people out to hurt citizens. But to say that they don’t exist, and that there aren’t bad cops who abuse their positions and brutalize people who aren’t resisting is just not true.

For example. This was in the Washington Post a couple of days ago:

“Knox County cop fired immediately after photos show brutal choking of student

Usually, after charges of police brutality, police officials take their time reacting while they follow procedure to determine who did what. But this episode in Knoxville, Tenn., was so extreme and well-documented that the local sheriff fired the officer immediately.

Frank Phillips, a Knox County Sheriff’s officer, was fired Sunday night after a series of pictures taken by photographer John Messner were published in the Daily Mail in Britain. They showed an officer identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Phillips grabbing 21-year-old college student Jarod Dotson around the neck and squeezing him until he fell to his knees…”

The video does not show a choke hold. Yes, the officer pushed him to the ground. This is nothing like what happened in NY. If they want to fire the cop for this, that is their business.

I wasn’t being politically correct. I was showing that your statement that police brutality never happens when a subject is obeying was incorrect.

Whether he had refused to go inside or had grabbed at an officer’s leg previously, is irrelevant. That was not the case at that moment, in that video. At that moment, he simply was standing with his arms behind his back while another officer switched out the cuffs they had on him. Phillips then went up, put his hands around his neck, and strangled him until he collapsed. That wasn’t a restraining move, or a choke hold, that was battery.

Like I said above, I definitely don’t think all cops are bad. But, that doesn’t mean that NO cops are bad, and I think this incident illustrates that.

PS: A choke hold is defined as “a general term for grappling hold that critically reduces or prevents either air (choking) or blood (strangling) from passing through the neck of an opponent.”

A person who restricts restricts air/blood flow using a grappling maneuver is executing a choke hold, regardless of what position the people may be in (choking from the rear and choking from the front are both choke holds – it doesn’t matter if the officer was in front of or behind the person when they restricted their air/blood flow).

BS & Rosenblatt, the video was at best inconclusive. I saw no discomfort on the perps face and he didn’t collapse, but was pushed down to the ground. Do you agree that he disobeyed prior orders to leave and go inside? I don’t think that is obeying officers orders. That has to be the lightest “choke” hold I have ever seen. It was more like the officer resting his hands on the side of the face. I choke hold is much more violent and I think the other officers would have stepped in and stopped it if it became violent.

Here Agent. This is a single picture of the officer and the offender. Please note the officer’s hands. Where they are quite obviously around the man’s throat. And with what appears to be some force, based on the officer’s face and the skin rolls on the offender’s neck.

And once again, it does not matter if he refused to go back inside earlier. And it does not matter if he had tried to grab an officer’s leg earlier. At that moment, he was docile. He was standing compliantly with his hands behind his back, while the other two officers to switched out his handcuffs. There was absolutely no need to strangle him until he went to his knees.

“Do you agree that he disobeyed prior orders to leave and go inside?” I did not bring this up, so I’ll let BS answer the question you asked him.

I have to say Agent – you’re something else, man. Now you state it looks more like “the officer was resting his hands on the side of the face.”

Really dude? It’s time for a new pair of glasses.

Click the first image to get a zoomed-in look of that static image. Go ahead, click the pic…I’ll wait….

Can you now see that the officer CLEARLY has BOTH hands around the guy’s NECK, below the suspect’s ears? I have no idea what the h3ll you’re looking at to claim otherwise.

“I saw no discomfort on the perps face” Are you implying it’s only a choke hold if the other person makes a facial expression showing discomfort? Pretty sure you can choke someone even if they’re not giving you a sad face – those who like that kind of rough stuff in their personal time wouldn’t be giving a sad face while being choked, but they’re still being choked!

Listen – if we can’t even agree that the picture here clearly shows the cop’s hands are around the guy’s neck, I don’t know how we will ever see eye to eye (pun intended).

Don’t know if you saying otherwise because you like to argue, because you’re daft, or because you really can’t tell if those cop hands are around the guy’s neck or his cheeks.

Either way, it wouldn’t kill you to admit you were wrong and say that you actually do see what we can all see in that picture – cop hands around a suspect’s neck.

That’s been my only point in this discussion: you claimed there is no evidence of a choke hold in that article, but that is clearly and blatantly false as there’s a picture of cop hands around that guy’s neck.

Do you still believe the cop was NOT using his hands to apply some kind of pressure to the neck of the suspect?

I want to state up front that I did not see the video. The pictures indicate the bald officer is potentially choking the perp.

That said, the fact remains that the perp ORIGINALLY resisted arrest and displayed aggression to the cops. The videography does not state when he started filming, so he may not have seen him initially resisting.

It is so easy for bystanders and Monday morning QB’s to say what the cop should have done. If I am a cop and deal with scumbags trying to hurt me, I am not going to give them a 2nd chance to hurt me. If the perp was again told to get on the ground and did not comply, he is still resisting, regardless of whether his physical actions make him appear that he is resisting.

One final comment, where is Rev’s Jackson and Sharpton with the police brutality allegations? I guess white-on-white is alright with them. I didn’t notice anyone burning down the town either.

Integrity – I completely agree with all your non-Reverend points.

By no means am I saying what SHOULD have happened, nor am I second-guessing the officer’s decision in the heat of the moment, nor am I stating what might have occurred before or after the image in discussion right now.

The recent item I’ve been talking about was an issue I had with Agent’s statement that he felt the cop wasn’t choking the suspect and that his beliefs were supported by the video and image which, to him, showed a cop resting his hands on the cheeks of the suspect.

I just don’t see how anyone could look at that image — especially the zoomed-in one BS posted recently — and come to any conclusion which differs from “yup – I see the hands of that one officer are wrapped around the neck/throat of the suspect while there are two other cops behind the suspect handcuffing him.”

That’s my only point right now.

See, here’s my issue with the “he’d been resisting” argument…

I think saying that it’s OK for an officer to use/continue to use unnecessary force after an offender has been subdued if the offender had initially resisted is very dangerous. That’s allowing for police to be punitive and even retaliatory if someone doesn’t do what they want, when they want. And, that could be just as dangerous for the officers as any offender. If a criminal gets into a struggle with a police officer, I’d bet even money that he’ll fight harder and more desperately if he knows that the officer will be allowed to continue to beat/strangle/hurt him if he surrenders. If a criminal knows that he’s likely to be hurt, even if he surrenders, what’s the incentive for giving up? That puts officers at an even greater risk than they already face daily.

Once someone is down and no longer resisting, that should be it. Cuff them and get them in the car. That’s it. I understand that police officers are human, and that sometimes it’s hard to reign the adrenaline in. But as police officers, they need to stay above the fray, and be able to take a step back and not take one last shot at someone who’s given up.

I’m not saying this kid didn’t deserve to be arrested. He definitely did. But he didn’t deserve to be strangled. Not when he had his hands behind his back and was complying with the officers.

Translation: They needed to go out and block some bridges and streets and scream at the Police and they didn’t have time to study.

BS, did you happen to notice the officers right hand with almost all fingers showing behind the perps neck. Doesn’t it take two hands to strangle someone? Yes, he was being restrained. Yes, he was drunk. Yes, he disobeyed officers orders to leave. Why do you think three officers were handling one man who is standing there compliantly? Perhaps he had caused some trouble prior to the video being taped and resisted arrest. Ever think of that?

The officer was squeezing his neck, Agent. How can you argue what’s in the picture? You can clearly see the fingers on both hands squeezing guy’s neck. The only reason why the fingers on the right hand are sticking up higher is because he was also holding his baton in that hand.

Three men weren’t handling him. He had been walked back to the police van, already in handcuffs, and two officers were swapping the deputy’s cuffs out for ones from the van. He wasn’t resisting, but Phillips still came up and strangled him until he passed out.

Should he have been arrested? Yes. Especially if they were throwing bottles at the police. But strangling someone who is not resisting being handcuffed, is just unnecessary police brutality.

“According to photographer John Messner, some college students began to throw beer bottles at police, who called for backup from the Knox County Sheriff’s office

Dotson was arrested and handcuffed, then walked a block to a waiting police van at the University of Tennessee.

He went willingly and did not resist arrest, said Messner.

When they got to the police van, the arresting deputy’s handcuffs were removed from the young man’s wrists and replaced with cuffs from the vehicle.

During the brief moment his wrists were uncuffed, Dotson let his arms fall by his sides.

As two officers twist his arms behind his back, another deputy walks in front of the young man and wraps his hands around his neck.”

            Time for another survey Rosenblatt.

Is it ok for young punks to disregard Police who were called to the scene, disregard instructions to leave the scene several times, throw bottles at the Police and resist arrest?

A simple yes or no will suffice!

But once they stop resisting, it doesn’t entitle the arresting officers to take one last shot at them. Once the ‘punk’ surrenders, it needs to be over. The officer doesn’t get to give him one last punch, kick or strangle for good measure.

Agent – once you show me some courtesy and answer EVEN JUST ONE of the 5 things I’ve asked you in this thread, I’ll be happy to answer another one of your questions.

I’m not playing your game until you start playing fair.

I’ve answered at least 5 of your questions and besides the first “No” to my original survey, you haven’t bothered to take the time to answer anything else I’ve asked you.

Here are some of the questions you’ve ignored in this thread in case you want to answer one to get me to reply to your survey:

            1) Do you agree your identity was revealed, not stolen?
            2) Do you agree I never said I wasn’t sure if your identity being revealed was right or wrong, only that I said I wasn’t going to comment on if it was right or wrong?
            3) Do you just feel that no suspect has ever been beaten by police when they’ve complied with the cop’s request, or has that actually been investigated and there is evidence to support your statement?
            4) Did you mean to imply that it’s only a choke hold if the other person makes a facial expression showing discomfort?
            5) Do you still believe the cop was NOT using his hands to apply some kind of pressure to the neck of the suspect even when seeing that zoomed-in image and knowing that you can choke someone with only 2 fingers, so it’s not necessary to use both hands to choke someone?

You answer one of my outstanding questions and I’ll answer your most recent one. Fair and square. Can’t wait to see what you decide to do.

Rosenblatt, I only asked you one question and obviously didn’t get my answer which was simply yes or no. I will ask you again. Do you believe that what was done to me by Booger, Libby & Ins102 was right or wrong? Quit parsing words and writing long diatribes. I do agree that you don’t seem to know whether it was right or wrong. I do agree that I have yet to see a case where officers commands were followed and brutality was exhibited including this case. This punk obviously didn’t follow them and suffered the consequences. How do you presume to know what happened before the taping began? Selective taping gives a wrong picture many times. Yes, he was apprehended and yes he was taken down. What did he say to the cop prior to then? Got any answers at all or are you still trusting the video for your opinion? By the way, I can’t wait to see if you will admit that the blatant disregard of privacy by three trolls on this blog were right or wrong.

I HAVE TO PARSE WORDS WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE H3LL I’M SAYING OR ASKING.

I HAVE TO WRITE LONG DIATRIBES TO POINT OUT YOUR LACK OF READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS AS I RESPOND TO YOUR POINTS WHILE TRYING TO GET YOU TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS I’M ACTUALLY ASKING.

Even when I lay out the questions for you, you still can’t comprehend what I’m saying. Example:

            1) Do you agree your identity was revealed, not stolen?

            NO ANSWER

            2) Do you agree I never said I wasn’t sure if your identity being revealed was right or wrong, only that I said I wasn’t going to comment on if it was right or wrong?

“I do agree that you don’t seem to know whether it was right or wrong.”

NOT A VALID ANSWER. We’ve already talked about this 3 times in this thread. I never said I didn’t know right from wrong, only that you misinterpreted me when I said I was **abstaining from answering** if it was right or wrong. Big difference.

            3) Do you just feel that no suspect has ever been beaten by police when they’ve complied with the cop’s request, or has that actually been investigated and there is evidence to support your statement?

“I do agree that I have yet to see a case where officers commands were followed and brutality was exhibited including this case”

NOT A VALID ANSWER. I asked if you just believed there’s no case where a cop has hurt a suspect who complied or if you have evidence. You saying you haven’t seen the opposite of what I was asking doesn’t answer my question.

            4) Did you mean to imply that it’s only a choke hold if the other person makes a facial expression showing discomfort?

            NO ANSWER

            5) Do you still believe the cop was NOT using his hands to apply some kind of pressure to the neck of the suspect even when seeing that zoomed-in image and knowing that you can choke someone with only 2 fingers, so it’s not necessary to use both hands to choke someone?

            NO ANSWER

As a show of good faith, I will answer your questions when, once again, you haven’t bothered to answer the ones I asked you first. Do not expect me to answer future questions from you if you continue to fail to answer questions I asked you first.

“Do you believe that what was done to me by Booger, Libby & Ins102 was right or wrong?”
            Wrong

“How do you presume to know what happened before the taping began?”

Now you’re just being a presumptuous idiot. Yes. I’m resulting to name calling. I don’t know how I could have been any clearer than when I previously wrote:

By no means am I saying what SHOULD have happened, nor am I second-guessing the officer’s decision in the heat of the moment, nor am I stating what might have occurred before or after the image in discussion right now.

“What did he say to the cop prior to then?”
I don’t know – see my previous answer

There. I answered your questions and you didn’t have to answer mine and admit you were wrong and that you misinterpreted many things I’ve written and explained to you ad-nauseam numerous times. You happy now?

nuff, the liberals and their lap dog media has been pushing man made Global Warming/Climate Change for several years now. Many of the so called scientists pushing the agenda admitted to cooking the books on the figures and some resigned in disgrace. This mantra is not going so well these days. It also is not helpful that the 24/7 news cycle reports on every storm anywhere and intimates it is man made climate change causing the problem. What is really amazing to me is that they think man can do something about a hurricane or tornado or even a record snowfall. Mother nature will be what mother nature will be.

You are a major hypocrite, but I’ll give you one more chance to take your own advice and “just answer the questions and we are done.”

        1) Do you agree your identity was revealed and those who did, did not technically perpetrate identity theft?
        2) Do you agree I **abstained** from saying if what they did was right or wrong, instead of what you claim which was that I said I didn’t know if it was right or wrong?

Two simple yes/no questions I’ve been asking you since we started this. I’m still waiting for your answers…..

    2. I agree that you abstained from comment because you apparently didn’t think they did anything wrong and wouldn’t condemn their behavior like several others did.

It’s hard to do that when some people can’t understand what’s being said, insult you for things you didn’t actually say, then act like a hypocrite because they’re upset you did or didn’t do something that they aren’t or are willing to do themselves.

I got insulted for not knowing the difference between right and wrong when I only said I was abstaining from answering, yet no matter how many times that was pointed out or even after I admitted it was wrong, that person still gives me grief because they still think I don’t know right from wrong.
