Does anyone know what is in this fast track bill yet? Do we have to pass it to see what is in it like Obamacare? How did that work out for the country? Maybe it is as good as the Climate deal Obama agreed to in his recent visit to China. “We will cut our emissions by 25% by the year 2020. China gets to start cutting emissions by 2030. What a deal!

In short: yes. Politically speaking, “Fast Track” authority virtually guarantees the TPP will be finalized. And we quite simply do not know what is in the agreement.

The administration claims Congress still gets an up-or-down vote on the final agreement, but the chance of it failing to pass Congress after getting fast-tracked is close to 0.

So in essence yes, we are absolutely being asked by Obama to pass this agreement without knowing a word of what it says.

Will the TPP mean the end of “fair use” in international copyright law? Will it mandate criminal penalties for intellectual property infringements? Will it result in huge drug price increases?

Will entities be able to sue governments in private tribunals over future lost profits in order to preempt and block potentially adverse legislative efforts? I.E. “We can’t regulate X because we can’t afford the litigation that will cite the trade agreement”

I guess we have to pass it before we know what is in it. One things for sure, you can keep your job….

Well look like the criminals have agreed on their secret agreement and now we the employers of this government get to find out how we’re being screwed.

Well, Tumka wasn’t too happy to see his Cadillac Health Care plans go by the wayside in favor of the vaunted Obamacare.

If the US does not adopt a trade promotion bill without damaging amendments we are only adding to another step in our economic decline. The US had lost 2.1m jobs since 2009.The labor participation rate is 62.8% the lowest it has been since 1978. China is already cutting trade deals all over the Pacific region. The US should be as well. The irony is Obama could not even get the support of his party.

Obama isn’t through yet causing the demise of this once great country. Believe it or not, we used to make things in this country and export to other nations. For years, our trade deficit has been out of control. In the month of March, our deficit was $50 Billion with a B. Pretty much mostly import and not much export. Other countries run circles around our imbecilic leaders.

Agent Obama does not know how to create jobs. He has never held a job in the private sector. He constantly states how well the economy is doing under his tenure however it’s been the most anemic economy since post war.

We need to get my old favorite back into the fray! Where is Pat Buchanan when we need somebody to remind us of what a bad trade deal can do to this country.Since this looks like we are going to get eaten up by Russia and China, why not try it Pat’s way. Close the borders, strengthen the military (which will create jobs for the unemployed) and get ready for the next attack by every nutcase, ISIS sympathizer, with a computer. Pat is still around, see http://www.buchanan.org, but he is just too reasonable for the main stream media.

earlybird, I don’t think we need to be a total isolationist country like Buchanan wants, but we should be hard nosed like Donald Trump is and stop letting other countries take advantage of us. There is a smart way of conducting trade talks and a stupid way which we have been doing for a very long time. Given Obama’s record of truthfulness on anything, I don’t think he is going to get favorable terms with anyone.
