One must always ask what source is providing the funding for the study? There is big money in global warming/climate change.

I love how they throw out numbers to emphasize the impact, without any other potential alternative given. Foe example, the article said,

“The report shows that in the former scenario a savings of up to $7 billion dollars annually by 2100 in the U.S. could be realized in road maintenance alone. In a future without greenhouse gas reductions, estimated damages from sea-level rise and storm surge to coastal property in the lower 48 states will be an estimated $5 trillion dollars through 2100, according to the report.”

    1) According to a 2011 CBO study, the entire nation spent $146 Billion to build and maintain our nations roads. That is just under a 5% savings. It would be less in year 2100 dollars.

    2) Is that $5 trillion the cumulative cost over 85 years? Would it be possible to restrict development in these areas?

I sincerely believe they pick numbers out of the air to make them sound impressive. I know that is what Obama does whenever he speaks. he just makes crap up.
