So Jack, the recruiting process will start with the 18 year old asking the coach for a signing bonus, upgrading the dorm room with all the perks, only practicing 30 minutes before taking a 30 minute break, dictating to the coach that he will only play just so many minutes per game. Is this getting out of hand or not? This is why Government Motors and Chrysler went broke letting unions run them.
Has anyone else noticed that Agent has a comment for every single story on this blog and all comments are either negative or giving us all an education of the obvious? Wonder how he finds time to run his incredibly successful agency.
Jack, have you noticed that the trolls come out on every article posted because they have nothing better to do and hope their boss doesn’t catch them stealing time from their jobs? I think Libby got fired for all her activity for several years. You and I are the bosses so we can do what we want. I still manage to run everything just like you do and give it to the trolls at every opportunity.
The troll king calling others trolls – that’s rich

Chicken little- no, he’s just telling you that unions suck and have caused millions of jobs to leave the country. They add zero value to anything they touch.
Good luck telling employees from the early 1900s that unions add zero value. I don’t think that was Agent’s goal with his post – he made up a bunch of scenarios that may happen if athlete students (not student athletes) have a union, ending with “Is this getting out of hand or not?”
Well, it’s not getting out of hand. First, it hasn’t even started yet. Second, these kids are used and thrown away by the colleges and can’t even accept a free meal or get a stipend to pay for food when traveling without the NCAA coming down hard on them.
If there is any group of people in the US that need a union to fight for their rights, it’s athlete students. They literally have no power yet make millions of dollars for the school.

Hey Chicken, sorry to rain on your parade, but unions outlived their usefulness 40 years ago and only exist to try to influence elections favoring them. They are responsible for many cities who have either taken bankruptcy or contemplating bankruptcy due to the extravagant benefit packages they negotiated. Try reading up on Detroit or Chicago sometime before posting again. By the way, try visiting some athletic dorm parking lots sometime if you think the college athletes are treated so badly. Many have BMW’s, Mercedes’s, Escalades, large pick ups that somehow these poor athletes can afford to drive. Try visiting the dining halls these kids eat in. I promise you it is not McDonalds.

What is wrong with you Agent? I said unions from the early 1900’s had lots of value, but now you want to rain on my parade and say they aren’t useful anymore? What parade? We agree. Why do you have to be so accusatory all the time?

How many is many? What percentage? Is that more or less than the average college kid? Have you gone to even 1/4 of the schools in the US to check on high value cars? Did you then cross-reference the owners with people who play athletics? Please stop making things up and saying them as facts.

But if that becomes overly popular, then they will unionize as well. And then it will be ruined for all of us.
College football unions…I’ll start watching synchronized swimming.

I am speaking of synchronized swimming of course.
Hahahaha, thanks for the clarification. I’m holding my breath (pun intended) that synchronized swimming won’t get ruined for us all!
