W. R. Berkley Corp. has appointed David A. Dunn as president and chief executive officer of its trucking insurance specialist, Carolina Casualty.
Dunn has 40 years of experience in the property/casualty insurance industry, principally in the specialty transportation segment. Most recently, he has served as president of the transportation division of the U.S. specialty insurer RLI, where has has been since 1997.
W. Robert Berkley, Jr., president and chief executive officer of W. R. Berkley Corp., said Dunn’s experience in specialized insurance operations will enable Carolina to apply its capabilities “across a broader range of classifications within this market,” as well as to further enhance its current products and services.
Based in Jacksonville, Fla., Carolina Casualty specializes in liability, physical damage and motor truck cargo insurance for local, intermediate and long-haul truckers for more than 65 years.
RLI Corp earlier this month announced that Dan Meyer had been promoted to president, RLI Transportation Division, succeeding Dunn.
