Never used it, never plan on using it, and won’t let my kids use it while they are minors, but I condone any consenting adult to do so insomuch that they take measures to ensure that it is not given to minors or used in conjunction with the operation of vehicles or machinery that could put lives in danger. If you want to use studies that show the level of criminal behavior in it’s users, or the affect on career, or something scientific, as you claim you usually do, that’s one thing.

And even that is separate from studies claiming that the users themselves are or are not involved in crime, because we can make the assumption that making it legal probably won’t make the users themselves change. If they were criminals before they probably will be after, and vice versa.

I believe that pot should be weighed in on, as to whether it is a risk to society, honestly. So that parents know the risks. What you just did here was akin to saying some of the most successful people of all time have done it, and therefore if you smoke pot you can be successful. You don’t see that as dangerous for kids or impressionable minds to see?
Do you know how many people who became losers (not to talk down on them, but they never went anywhere) I knew growing up, who did not simply smoke it occasionally, said, and believed, that the best forward thinkers were pot smokers, as if it actually made them BETTER?
Do you not see this as a danger? Do you think through your potential affect on society with such comments?
Agent saying to reconsider pot use or it is bad is not necessarily damaging, (other than when he acts like a jerk, and that is basically just annoying.) is not in itself potentially leading anyone to become harmed.

Do you even know what the DOJ is for? To go on a crusade against the DOJ is sheer insanity. You clearly don’t know how the government works. To advocate for it’s removal would invoke chaos.
It is what it sounds like. A department that enforces justice, it does not create laws or determine penal codes. It enforces them. This also works to the benefit of people who are trying to meet parole. If someone is eligible they need only prove it, and the DOJ enforces their parole, as one example.
They do not determine the penalties for Marijuana, they enforce them. Jeff Sessions has already talked about this. It’s his job to enforce the law, not pick and choose what to obey based on popular opinion, he as said as much when it comes to prosecuting Marijuana cases. Should he just break the law and ignore federal law? This is what many state agencies do with regards to illegal immigration as it is. Instead of seeking to adhere to federal law and or changing it, they try to side step it entirely. Gowdy says it best here:

Interesting to me that this article looks at “medical marijuana” dispensaries, and imply that their findings would apply to recreational marijuana stores that we have in WA, CO and others. Probably a different thing entirely – but they’ll use the research to influence the public policy debate anyway.
