Specialty Program Group LLC (SPG), an insurance holding company for specialty underwriting facilities, has launched Flagship Marine Underwriters, a new yacht and charter recreational marine underwriting facility.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Flagship specializes in global underwriting facilities for yacht, luxury yachts, and the charter yacht industry. The team will be responsible for expanding SPG’s marine product offering in the underwriting and wholesale space.
Laura Sherrod, director of Underwriting, Dylan Schwerdtfeger, managing director of Commercial Marine and Charter, and Shawn Kucharski, managing partner, have joined SPG and will run the newly created platform.
Chris Treanor, president and CEO of SPG, said the Flagship leadership team, with a combined 40 years of experience in the both yacht and charter underwriting and risk management, will help SPG build its marine underwriting platform. The company will create niche solutions in the watercraft market
Headquartered in Summit, N.J., SPG focuses on expanding program underwriting and specialty businesses.
