Lainie R. Dorneker has been appointed president of IronHealth, the healthcare professional liability unit of Ironshore. She assumes the role from Matthew Dolan, who was recently named president of Ironshore U.S. Operations.

Dorneker joined Ironshore in 2009 as product manager for IronHealth’s custom account facility, where she oversaw IronHealth’s alternative risk transfer and risk financing solutions for healthcare organizations, which include loss portfolio transfers, stand-alone tails, fronting policies, and other custom products. In addition, she later assumed the role of Midwest regional manager for IronHealth. She most recently served as chief operating officer of IronHealth, responsible for all key strategic and tactical initiatives in support of IronHealth’s production, profit, distribution and claims activities. In addition to identifying and implementing operational efficiencies and best practices, Dorneker was charged with new product development, cross-sell, professional development and training, and sales and service excellence.

Dorneker has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Ironshore, she worked for Zurich N.A. in various roles, including as professional liability counsel and senior underwriter. She also worked as an attorney in private legal practice.

In her new role, Dorneker will continue to report to Dolan.

Ironshore, a Liberty Mutual Company, provides broker-sourced specialty property/casualty insurance.
