It is interesting to see the various jail times for these crooks. 5 years for $100,000,000, 6 years for $23,000,000, 20 Years for $14,000,000. There ought to be more consistency.
I’m with you two, and I’m just guessing here, but maybe the differences are due to the fact that maximum penalties depending on the crime vary by state & sometimes insurance fraud can only be prosecuted as mail fraud? Just spit-balling here.
Remember that America’s justice system takes non-violent crimes very seriously. For instance, hundreds of bankers went to prison after the global financial crisis of 2008 destroyed the American economy and the lives of millions of people. Right?
Just like Trump has done things that I think are good, he has also done some negative things in my eyes. Why do you feel the need to bash a president that actually did a lot of good things for our country? Even if you do not like the person, if you cannot acknowledge their successes as well as their downfalls you lose your credibility. I think Obama was not perfect, but he helped the US in a time where the recession could have destroyed the economy and put us to the point of the great recession. I do not agree with his implementation of Obamacare, but I think it was a necessary step to further our country to no longer be looked down due to our healthcare system that will not really work in a private sector due to American corporate greed. Also our most recent national figures point to another soon to be recession due to this administrations policies they have implemented and the tax cut. Hey I love more money, but even a beginning grad student in finance knows that tax cuts do not benefit a majority of society when given to large businesses, they use it to fund their endeavors even further. Small businesses deserved the tax cut, but most fortune 500 companies were only paying 21% in taxes on average due to the loopholes, and trump did not close them like he said he would.
Obama care was a life-saver when I was laid off, had no money coming and my previous employer tried to stop me from collecting unemployment by claiming I was fired for stealing. At the time one- quarter of all employers who were laying off their people reported to unemployment that these workers were fired for wrongful misconduct! Had to wait three months for the hearing, which was found in my favor.
Your welcome scrooged, from someone that couldn’t afford Obamacare but got scammed into paying yours.

You are just so much fun, Jerry. You bring up the failure to indict any bankers. I bring up the fact it was during Obama’s term that nothing happened, which is true and relevant because it is the left that constantly whines about no indictments but they NEVER blame the guy who could have done it. Now, why is that?
YIKES! helpingout: the EXECUTIVE branch prosecutes crimes, not the judicial branch. You may have heard of the Justice Department, which reports to the President? Attorney General? Have you never heard of the President described as the primary “law enforcement officer” in the land?
Brave souls, all. (Was it my cologne, or just the fact I keep telling the truth?)
I love the fact that the embarrassing posts by Rosenblatt and helpingout were deleted after they tried to put me down for not knowing the differences in the 3 branches of government, when in fact it was they who didn’t know what they were talking about! Just awesome.
I am still not sure if I understand the various jail times then, especially if it’s the same branch of government who is making these decisions. So why only 6 years for stealing millions and making everyone else pay the price? (By increasing premiums) Seems odd, or maybe I am just not understanding
I stand by my deleted post – Obama couldn’t have done anything because the President doesn’t initiate investigations nor indictments. The President can’t tell the Justice Department what to investigate. It may be the Democrats fault that nothing was prosecuted, but it couldn’t have been Obama’s fault.
HA HA HA! Poor Barry. The entire Liberal Universe wanted scalps from Wall Street and his hand-picked AG, Eric Holder, did absolutely nothing.
But it’s not Obama’s fault. Oh no. He could have fired Holder and hired someone to go after those bad people. But it wasn’t his fault.
I knew you weren’t honest before, Rosenblatt, but blasting me for supposedly not knowing the workings of the government and then doubling down when you get called out is revealing about how deep it goes.
I still stand by my comments craig even though you are attempting to make them worse then they are. There is this thing in our government called checks and balances that exist between the 3 branches of government…. The president is a leader, not a dictator here.

I was noticing the same thing. Is there some kind of maximum sentencing for white collar crime?

Jack, I would rather see them “indicted”, not inducted.
Looks like the more you steal, the better lawyer you can afford.

Good point. Amazing that Obama did absolutely nothing.

The President isn’t part of the Judicial Branch and can’t indict anyone.
Craig…. you need to go back to school and learn about our 3 branches of government….
Dave Chappelle did a good skit about that.

And the 4 down votes! Too funny.
