We are all in this together. Let’s all contribute to the national flood program to help others without access to flood insurance….it’s for the common good.

We already are contributing with our tax dollars via the national flood insurance program subsidies, which for the most part, go to high wage earners who build near the coast.

Then we pay again via FEMA for clean up costs after every flood.

Let’s actually price the insurance where it belongs, change building codes so future buildings take into account the expected future floods, and force sellers to notify buyers of prior flood events.

Having to pay more for insurance, limiting insurance payouts after 1 or 2 prior payments, or not being able to sell your home due to the costs of living near the shore would end the problem.

“Government-Produced” flood maps aren’t accurate??? No way! Is “Government-Produced” anything accurate? :)
