I think its time they eliminated Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and just had Scouts.
Boy Scouts always go to do the fun stuff. Girl Scouts got to sell cookies.
Either combine them or get rid of them all together.

^^^^ THIS (although not being a Scout I can’t saw which has the most fun)

Boy Scout and Girl Scout “curriculum” and “titles” aren’t the same. If you want to be an Eagle Scout and you’re a girl, up until last year you couldn’t do that. It’s only fair that a girl can become an Eagle Scouts now if they put in the same time and effort as the boys did.

But you don’t blame Girl Scouts for not having an Eagle Scout option? Of course you don’t.

Sounds sexist. Girls have to go to Boy Scouts to be an Eagle Scout. Yep, women can’t figure that one out, right Rosenblatt?

You mean the women who run Girl Scouts DID have an Eagle Scout option?

Or you mean that they couldn’t figure that part out?

Pray tell. Because those are the only two possibilities other than they just CHOSE not to have an Eagle Scout option. In which case, that’s not Boy Scouts problem.

Come on, Andrew. You leave up Craig’s comment saying my -quote- argument -unquote- is sexist but you remove mine simply calling out his straw man argument?

Girl Scouts already have a “highest award” similar to Eagle Scout – the “Gold Award.” There’s a whole slew of scholarships that become available to the (few) girls that earn it.

Girl Scouts does put lots of opportunities to the troop leaders – many of whom don’t let their troops know about them. Camping, horseback riding, shooting sports, archery, fishing, boating, etc. It’s all there. They also have awards similar to Eagle Scout – just google “Highest Awards” and you’ll see Bronze, Silver, Gold. Earning the Gold Award opens the door to lots of scholarship opportunities. The two programs have very different tones; one works better with most boys, and the other works better with most girls.

What a disgusting suggestion. The pedophile problem will probably end the Boy Scouts forever, and it is ridiculous to say that Boy Scouts of America or “lefties” WANTED pedophiles to be Scoutmasters.

Being queer has nothing to do with being a pedophile. Being gay has nothing to do with being a pedophile. There always have been LGBTQ leaders, parents, and members of Scouting, whether it’s the Boy or Girl Scouts–though mostly not out in the open.

Once again, for those in the back: Being gay has nothing to do with being a pedophile.

    What are you talking about?

Nobody is FORCING girls to apply to the Boy Scouts. It is simply an OPTION they have.

    Are you a girl?
Do you want to become an Eagle Scout?
Then don’t sign up as a Girl Scout because Girl Scouts can’t become Eagle Scouts!

If Girl Scouts could do the same thing as Boy Scouts and achieve the same rank, I’d agree with your frustration. But once again, your argument is flawed at its core.
