Here we go again. Masks are not required in Florida. They are required in New York. Similar populations. Restaurants are open in Florida; closed in New York.
Guess which state has better Covid 19 numbers.
It is social distancing that works. The evidence for masks is anecdotal and not science.
(But I do love seeing people driving alone wearing a mask. And I love seeing joggers who are 100 yards from anyone wearing a mask. Masks are good for humor.)
P.S. Where is the condemnation for Biden’s position on vaccine distribution priorities? He was wrong and thank God he wasn’t in office at the time. Look for that in the NY Times. It will take you all day and you STILL won’t find it. (hint: right next to the article on Hunter Biden and China.)

“Guess which state has better Covid 19 numbers.”
I guess FL is worse than NY. Let’s see….
Average cases in FL the past 7 days: 109,736
Average cases in NY in the past 7 days: 42,558
Total cases in FL since Jan 2020: 1,461,958
Total cases in NY since Jan 2020: 656,699
I know you never learn anything new and are not an honest man.
Florida death rates vs. New York Rosenblatt? Hello? Who cares about the number of people who get Covid 19 and recover quickly? Death and serious illness is the ONLY reason we care about Covid 19.
And citing “case numbers” is what media lap dogs do.
Case numbers are the worst measure because . . . they leave out the very large percentage of people who are never tested who contracted the disease AND case numbers don’t reflect serious illness, which is all that matters when herd immunity (by vaccine or prior infection) is the ONLY way out.
Did Florida test MORE people than New York?
And how do you measure the number of people who contracted the disease but were never tested? And why does anyone care about people with mild cases? Should we count the number of people who catch a cold and get over it in 3 days?
Wise up. (And stop using 7 day numbers. It REALLY makes you look silly.)

“The evidence for masks is anecdotal and not science.”
Lies. We’ve been over this already. How many more studies do you need to see?
“…all types of masks reduced aerosol exposure, relatively stable over time, unaffected by duration of wear or type of activity”, and concluded that “any type of general mask use is likely to decrease viral exposure and infection risk on a population level, despite imperfect fit and imperfect adherence”.

Any chance that Rosenblatt and Craig Winston Cornell could just a room somewhere to conduct their on going campaigns of dislike for each other?

Should I NOT call out his constant spreading of dangerous misinformation? “Masks don’t work! The vaccine isn’t safe!” These statements are extremely dangerous, not based in science or reality, and if people here actually believe him then we’re never going to get out of this pandemic.
You should stop lying. New York’s death numbers are far worse. And masks are unproven beyond the effect of reminding everyone to socially distance.
After all, the overwhelming majority of people infected are by people they live with. And NO ONE is telling people to wear masks in the home.
Now, why is that, if masks are so effective? Don’t you care?

No surprise here: masks (when worn properly) are effective at REDUCING the spread of C19.
Add in other risk mitigation tools (social distancing and/or testing) and the reduction of the spread is even better than wearing a mask alone.
Let’s not forget: masks aren’t meant to ELIMINATE C19 transmission, just reduce the risk of spreading and contracting the virus.
Let’s all mask up and social distance until we can all get vaccinated (or at least 80+% of us, depending on how the virus continues to mutate)

The state that doesn’t require masks and doesn’t limit indoor dining is doing worse than the state that did.
Thanks for agreeing with me: masks + other mitigation steps work at reducing the spread of C19.
