Great American Promotes Mulvey to Divisional President

Great American Insurance Group recently announced the promotion of Michael B. Mulvey to divisional president within its FCIA, the division that underwrites trade credit and political risk

Mulvey joined FCIA in 2012 as divisional vice president, leading its claim and recovery operations. In 2021, he was promoted to divisional senior vice president and was responsible for reinsurance, compliance and corporate governance, as well as serving on the credit committee.

W.R. Berkley Appoints Rivera President of Global Product Recall

W. R. Berkley Corp. has named Luis Rivera as president of Berkley Global Product Recall. Rivera succeeds Louis Lubrano, who has been named chairman of the business.

Rivera is a veteran executive with more than 25 years of commercial property/casualty underwriting, claims and management. He most recently served as the head of general liability underwriting at Hanover Insurance and also worked at OneCal, The Hartford. ad Arthur J. Gallagher in his career

Lubrano joined Berkley Global Product Recall as president at its founding. As chairman, he will continue to support the product Recall team as the business evolves and expands. In addition, he will remain a key member of the W. R. Berkley Corp. team.

Fusion Hires U.S. Team for M&A

London-based Fusion Specialty, which specializes in insurance for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financial Lines, has launched the online Fusion Americas, headed by Managing Partner Brian Hayes. This offering is targeting the small and mid-size M&A marketplace and the insurance cover will be delivered over the io.insure platform.

Working with Hayes on the U.S. initiative will be Michael Mora, senior partner of underwriting, and Michael Federer, partner, M&A.

Hayes joined Fusion in 2022 as managing partner and brings nearly 20 years of global financial lines insurance experience from AIG, having spent the last six years underwriting representation and warranty insurance throughout the Americas Prior to that M&A assignment, he was with AIG’s public company executive liability divisions.

Mora was part of Fusion’s founding underwriting team. He is a certified public accountant with more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry .

Federer joined Fusion following a 16-year legal career where his practice focused on large businesses’ strategic initiatives, partnerships and acquisition and disposition activities.
