AmTrust Names Fletcher and Thomas to Lead New E&S Premier Group

AmTrust Financial Services Inc., headquartered in New York City, appointed Curt Fletcher as senior vice president and Matt Thomas as vice president of AmTrust’s newly established E&S Premier group within the company’s excess and surplus (E&S) division.

E&S Premier is a new AmTrust business group focused on complex casualty business distributed through a very select group of brokers. Distribution will be exclusively through wholesale brokers, reinforcing AmTrust E&S’s wholesale-only focus.

Curt Fletcher

Fletcher, based in Seattle, Washington, has over 30 years of experience, most recently serving as president and CEO of Berkley E&S Solutions, following a long career at W.R. Berkley Corporation and its subsidiary Admiral Insurance, holding leadership roles including regional vice president, chief underwriting officer, and president & CEO. Earlier in his career, he served as a vice president at Gen Re.

Thomas has a strong focus on underwriting and underwriting strategy, joining AmTrust after 15 years with Admiral Insurance, where he most recently served as national vice president of professional liability underwriting strategy and analytics. Prior roles at Admiral included vice president of professional liability and underwriter, following an earlier underwriting position at CNA.

The Fidelis Partnership Makes Leadership Promotions

The Fidelis Partnership, headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, made several senior promotions.

Paget Hengesbaugh is head of international treaty. Hengesbaugh has been with TFP for five years, having joined from Renaissance Re.

Drew Tomlinson is head of U.S. treaty. He has been with TFP since 2023 and held prior roles at OdysseyRe and Penn National Insurance.

Will Abbott is head of complex risks and specialty treaty. He previously had roles at Howden Re, Guy Carpenter and Willis Re.

Jack Jarvis is head of global clients. Jarvis joined TFP in 2024 from Canopius.

All four will report to Richard Coulson, Deputy Group CUO, while also working closely with Group CEO and Chairman, Richard Brindle.

TFP also made the following promotions and appointments in Bermuda:

Mark Herget, who has been with the business for over six years, will be promoted to deputy group head of property, energy and construction and join TFP’s group executive committee.

Danny Mereu joins the Bermuda office on Jan. 1, 2026, transferring from London to take on a new role as group head of property underwriting analytics and pricing.

Dennis Brauchle recently joined TFP as head of property treaty & portfolio analytics, having previously been deputy CRO & head of property and casualty actuarial at Hannover Re Bermuda.
