Allianz Commercial Appoints Stewart as North American Head of Liability

Global insurer Allianz Commercial, with U.S. headquarters in New York City, appointed Mary Ann Stewart as regional head of liability, North America, effective September 22. Based in Chicago, Stewart will report to Jenise Klein, Chief Underwriting Officer of Allianz Commercial North America, with a matrix into Alfredo Alonso, Global Head of Liability.
Stewart will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of Allianz Commercial’s North American liability portfolio, which includes excess casualty, construction liability, and environmental coverages across the U.S. and Canada. She will also oversee the direction, leadership, and talent development of all liability underwriters across the U.S. and Canada.
Stewart joins from Markel where she held several roles over her seven years, most recently acting as senior director, global casualty underwriting, within Markel’s casualty business line, driving portfolio management and strategy across Markel’s casualty portfolio.
Alliant Hires Martin to Lead Alternative Risk Transfer Platform

Alliant Insurance Services, headquartered in Irvine, California, hired Nick Martin as senior vice president within Alliant Specialty, to lead the company’s national alternative risk transfer platform.
Prior to joining Alliant, Martin spent over a decade at Lockton Companies as an alternative risk solutions consultant, where he helped businesses design and manage programs like captives and self-insurance structures to gain more control over their risk.
