Markets/Coverages: CFC Adds Cyber Cover for SME Executives; Cowbell Brings AI Agents to Policyholders

October 8, 2026

CFC said it has added to its Cyber Proactive Response (CPR) policy, introducing a series of enhancements including:

  • new personal protections for senior executives of small to middle sized enterprises
  • enhanced affirmative AI coverage
  • extended indemnity period for business interruption claims

“Cyber attacks no longer stop at the organization’s network. Increasingly, they target the people responsible for running the business,” said Scott Bailey, head of global cyber underwriting at CFC. “Senior executives can face unique personal exposures during high-pressure extortion and social engineering events, involving credible threats, harassment or physical security concerns affecting their families.”

The new coverage for senior executives covers personal crime and extortion exposures, temporary relocation costs for executives and their families, and trauma counselling services in the aftermath of an attack.

Also, as organizations increasingly embed AI across operations, CFC updated wording to provide clarity and confidence.

CPR now includes an extended indemnity period from 12 to 18 months, reflecting the reality that many business interruption losses continue long after systems have been restored.

Cowbell Brings OMNI-Powered AI Risk Advisors to Policyholders

Cowbell, a provider of AI-native cyber and specialty insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), announced Risk Advisor, an individualized AI agent that gives policyholders a plan for reducing their cyber risk.

The AI agents operate within OMNI, Cowbell’s AI-native Decision Intelligence System, and uses the risk intelligence Cowbell continuously collects into a prioritized set of actions each business can take to strengthen its cyber resilience.

Risk Advisor is available through the Cowbell Platform and Cowbell OMNI mobile app. It connects Cowbell Factors, Spotlights, security findings, inside-out connector data, and real-time threat intelligence to identify what matters most, explain why, and recommend practical next steps.

For organizations deploying AI, Risk Advisor interprets three AI Cowbell Factors: AI Exposure for observability, AI Vulnerability for autonomy, and AI Assurance for governance, explaining the signals behind each and prioritizing actions to strengthen the policyholder’s AI risk posture.

Recommendations are prioritized by urgency and potential risk reduction. Each recommendation explains why it matters.
