HCC Insurance Holdings Inc. announced that Michael A.F. Roberts has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors. Roberts will also serve as a member of the company’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, as well as its Compensation Committee. He is replacing Marvin P. Bush who will remain affiliated with HCC as an advisor to the chairman and the Board of Directors, as well as a member of the company’s Investment Committee.
Roberts is a retired managing director of Salomon Smith Barney and the former head of its Insurance Investment Banking Group, a position he held since 1987. Prior to his retirement in 2002, Roberts served in a number of capacities at Salomon Smith Barney since joining the firm in 1969, including chief administrative officer of its Investment Banking Department. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Triad Guaranty Inc.
