Spencer Educational Foundation has received a $100,000 commitment from the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter to be contributed over a four-year period beginning in 2007.
The RIMS Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter Scholarship, a merit-based scholarship, will be granted annually in $5,000 lots to students whose permanent residence is in Texas, are pursuing a degree in risk management or insurance and meet all academic requirements of the Foundation.
The primary sources of donations for the Foundation are corporations, RIMS chapters and fundraising events. Since 1980, Spencer Educational Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and $1.7 million in grants to students pursuing degrees in and universities offering programs for risk management and insurance.
Established in 1979 to honor the late Robert S. Spencer, the foundation is administered by its Board of Directors and is affiliated with the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS) in New York. For more information, visit www.spencered.org.
