Louisiana residents who have applied to the state’s Road Home program have until June 16 to return forms indicating whether they’re interested in receiving grants to elevate homes they’re rebuilding after the 2005 hurricanes.
The state says it’s mailed more than 113,000 surveys to gauge interest in the grant programs. Nearly 25,000 homeowners have expressed interest in the Road Home Elevation Incentive program and nearly 11,130 in the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, which is still being established.
Spokeswoman Christina Stephens says there is some overlap between the numbers, because some homeowners have expressed interest in both programs.
