A 24-year-old construction worker from Dallas died when a load of plywood fell on him at the site of a new jail being built behind the Cameron Parish courthouse.
The American Press reports that Pablo Trejo (TRAY-ho) was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday and his body was transported to the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office.
Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Chris Savoy says the large load of plywood fell about 9:20 a.m. Monday, as Trejo walked beneath it.
