The Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office announced that Texas independent insurance agents, who operate in their communities under the Trusted Choice brand, have created a grant program for volunteer fire departments (unsupported by tax revenues) to award at least six grants of up to $5,000 combined for fire safety campaigns and events and for the purchase of new equipment.
A selection committee of firefighters and independent insurance agents will award the grants based on need.
As applicable, grant recipients will be required to submit receipts for equipment purchased after the purchase or a report upon completion of the fire safety and prevention campaign.
