Texas Agent Association Annual Conference Set for June 26 – 28

May 3, 2013

The Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) and its Trusted Choice agencies, insurance representatives and other insurance professionals from across the state will gather at the Omni Dallas Hotel, June 26-28, for IIAT’s 116th Annual Conference & Trade Show.

The conference kicks off on June 26, with a community service project hosted by young agents. This year, young agents invite volunteers to join them in a work day at Mi Escuelita Preschool in Dallas. Mi Escuelita Preschool provides early childhood education to low income at-risk children in the Dallas area.

Two full days of informative sessions begin on June 27. Session highlights include: Discovering Your Memory Power; How the Consumer Agent Portal Works for Texas Agents; Marketing Yourself Electronically; The New Role of the Health Insurance Broker Under the Affordable Care Act; an E&O Mock Trial; and keynote speaker Evan Smith, editor in chief and CEO of The Texas Tribune.

The conference features the biggest insurance trade show in the Southwest. More than 170 companies offering markets, automation systems, restoration services, premium finance, life and health, unique software and more will be on hand at the trade show in the Omni Dallas Hotel. With no competing sessions, attendees will have plenty of time to visit with vendors. The trade show opens on Thursday with a welcome party for attendees and again on Friday with breakfast in the trade show. Prizes will be drawn throughout the show.

Other conference entertainment and networking events include a prize-filled casino party and the annual Awards Luncheon, where the Drex Foreman Award will be presented along with the Paige Eiland Political Action Award, the André Juneau Young Agent of the Year Award and the ACSR of the Year Award.

IIAT is also hosting a silent auction to benefit IMPACT, the political action committee of Texas independent insurance agents. The conference concludes Friday night with a live musical performance by the Josh Abbott Band.

Complete conference details, including online registration and lists of attendees and exhibitors, are available at iiat.org.
