The number of work-related fatalities in 2012 in Louisiana declined to 106, according to a preliminary count by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries. This is down slightly from the revised figure of 111 deaths in 2011, and 111 deaths in 2010, the Louisiana Workforce Commission announced.
Industries reporting the most fatalities were trade, transportation and utilities, 35; construction, 23; natural resources and mining, 13; government, 11; and manufacturing, 9.
