Mike Gerik, executive vice president of the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Cos., has been elected president of the Association of Fire and Casualty Companies in Texas (AFACT).
Gerik, whose term as AFACT president runs for two years, also chairs the board of directors at the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.
AFACT board members elected Paul Ehlert, president of Germania Insurance, as vice president. Ron Lawson, vice president of marketing for the Republic Group, was elected secretary/treasurer.
Ty Simmons, vice president, corporate counsel and secretary at Union Standard Insurance Company, will serve as director at large. Lyndell Haigood, regional vice president of State Auto Insurance Co., is the immediate past president.
AFACT is a trade organization representing Texas-based property/casualty insurance companies. It was founded in 1941 to broaden consumer knowledge of insurance and support legislation to improve the insurance business.
