The Texas Department of Insurance’s Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) re-certified 11 employers to self-insure workers’ compensation claims. Together, the companies employ about 50,000 people in Texas.
DWC renewed:
- American Electric Power Company Inc.
- Archer-Daniels-Midland Company
- FedEx Ground Package System Inc.
- Hyatt Corporation
- Lockheed Martin Corporation
- MasTec Inc.
- Parker-Hannifin Corporation
- Poly-America L.P.
- Poly Trucking Inc.
- Union Tank Car Company
- United Airlines Inc.
To be certified to self-insure, a company must meet state requirements and have a minimum workers’ compensation insurance unmodified manual premium of $500,000.
