Alan Krapf, president of San Antonio-based USAA Property and Casualty Insurance Group, has announced his intention to retire. USAA has begun the process of identifying internal and external candidates for the role. Once a new president is in place, Krapf will remain at USAA as a special assistant to the CEO and retire in early 2017.
Krapf took over as president of the USAA Property and Casualty Insurance Group in May 2014. Prior to this role, he served as the senior vice president, chief of staff for the P/C company; senior vice president, Member Experience; as well as several senior roles within policy service, underwriting, property insurance, and the USAA Insurance Agency.
He joined USAA in 1989 from MetLife Auto & Home. Krapf currently serves on the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) board of directors and on The Institutes board of directors.
