Hey, remember that time Jesus encouraged smuggling? Yeah, neither do I. This owner is only a Christian in the sense to which the parts of The Book he agrees with. Phony!

5 years in Catholic school and studied it in several classes in college. So, whereas I am not a pastor, I have a deep knowledge of The Bible, yes.

I’d say the article is pretty even-handed, perplexed. Compare it to the coverage by Christianity Today and you might agree.

As far as broad brush strokes for an entire group based on the actions of a few, that’s for the small-minded.

I agree, Fair – which is why I’m only painting this particular individual and anyone who may act in kind as a fake Christian. There are many great Christians out there who don’t pick and choose which parts of The Bible they will agree with.

Just because your catholic school taught that way doesn’t mean others did across the country. 12 years in catholic school, we read versus and made copies throughout that book.

Captain is right, the majority of people only agree with what suits them best and are at best ignorant of the other teachings in that book.

            Thank you ???,
Your experience sounds similar to mine. Our church did offer a Latin mass if you chose to go to that particular one. I preferred to understand the message and I do not speak Latin, so I didn’t attend those services. I no longer practice Catholicism, but I do define myself Christian. I actually attend a Lutheran church now, though I haven’t gone so far as to label myself Lutheran, either. I enjoy the teachings from our pastor there. He has incredible vision.

            Cap,

I would say my time spent in that institution only succeeded in driving me as far away from Catholicism and religion in general as possible. I no longer identify with any of them. I’d say I’ve fallen into the agnostic category.

There is the possibility these artifacts could have been lost forever; destroyed had they remained in the middle east. Interesting to see they are being returned.

makes you wonder how many artifacts have been lost to history because someone didn’t agree with the significance.

You mean like the Atheist Nazis who stole all that famous European art?
Or the Muslims destroying non-Muslim artifacts and historical sites?

(Hey Insurance Journal: you have space for an article bashing Hobby Lobby, but no
space for the loud mouth “Me Too” supporter, former New York A.G. Schneiderman, who beat up 4 women, sending 2 of them to a hospital for treatment? Doesn’t the IJ care about “Me Too”?)

I did miss it and stand corrected.

Now, how about some coverage of all the people on the left who knew about Schneiderman (and knew about Weinstein/Clinton/Ted Kennedy), but kept their mouths shut for years and years for some reason?

You know, a story about how Democrats value Democrat power over any real women/victims . . . and how this entire MeToo movement should have happened decades ago?

I won’t wait up. (Quick, someone drag in Trump!)
