Insurance Council of Texas Seeks Leadership Award Candidates

February 26, 2019

Property/casualty insurance trade group, the Insurance Council of Texas, is seeing candidate nominations for its annual industry leadership award.

Since 1998, has awarded its Raymond Mauk Leadership Award to an individual who has made a notable contribution to the Texas property and casualty insurance industry.

The ICT is asking for potential candidates to be submitted as nominees for this year’s Raymond Mauk Award. The executive committee of the ICT board of directors will review all nominees and make a final recommendation for the award recipient.

ICT will present the Raymond Mauk Award at this year’s 27th Annual Property and Casualty Insurance Symposium, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Austin on July 11-12.

As background, the award honors former Texas Fire Commissioner Raymond Mauk who enjoyed a long and distinguished career and held many positions of leadership within the insurance industry. Among his many accomplishments, Commissioner Mauk’s leadership and persistence helped create the Texas Insurance Checking Office, which still serves our industry today.

The guiding principle for nomination should be recognition of someone who has made a difference for the industry, their employer(s), the regulation of insurance, the routine business of the industry in Texas, or ICT or its predecessor organizations. Nominees can be an active or retired company employee, regulator, agent, elected official, educator, or anyone connected with the Texas property and casualty industry. As part of your nomination, please provide a brief explanation as to why the person should be considered for this distinguished honor.

Nominations may be sent to rpaniccia@insurancecouncil.org by April 5, 2019.
