A Waco, Texas-based bath and shower manufacturer has been cited for 19 workplace safety violations and fined $558,821 by federal workplace safety officials.
An inspection by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration revealed that Clarke Products Inc. failed to use required machine guards. The violations included willful and repeated failures related to machine guarding and fall protection.
In October 2018, OSHA also cited Clarke Products for failing to ensure the use of guards.
Headquartered in Colleyville, Clarke Products Inc. had approximately 110 employees at its Waco facility at the time of inspection.
The company has 15 business days from receipt of citation and penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director, or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
