A severe storm generated thunderstorms and reports of tornados across southeastern Texas into Louisiana late morning Wednesday, Oct. 27.
The National Weather Service put out severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings for much of the Houston-Galveston region. Most of those warnings expired by late morning.
A tornado watch is in effect for Beaumont, Texas and southwestern Louisiana until 4:00 p.m. CDT, according to the NWS.
More than 49,000 CenterPoint Energy customers were without power across the Houston area late morning, reported KPRC.
KMBT reported video of an unconfirmed tornado in Orange, near Interstate 10 and Highway 62.
