The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) announced May 5 plans to amend 28 Texas Administrative Code §132.17, concerning Denial, Dispute, and Payment of Death Benefits. The amendments make updates for plain language and agency style and clarify an insurance carrier’s deadlines to file disputes over eligibility of death benefits.
DWC is seeking public comments to the proposed rule, which will be published in the May 20 issue of the Texas Registar. A copy of the proposed rule will also be posted on the TDI website.
