Republican Bob Sullivan won the Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner’s race on Tuesday.
Sullivan earned 59% of the vote, defeating Democrat Craig MacIntyre.
Sullivan said on social media that voters “demanded fairness, transparency and accountability from their insurance commissioner.”
Oklahoma faces some of the nation’s highest auto and homeowners insurance rates.
“I look forward to working alongside the Legislature to get prices down, increase transparency and more competition.”
Sullivan describes himself as a third-generation insurance and risk management professional. He works for Alera Group as an associate.
Sullivan will succeed Glen Mulready, who has served as commissioner since 2019.
