MBS, Digital Insurance Forge Small Business Alliance

July 29, 2003

Alpharetta, Ga.- based MyBenefitSource (MBS), a provider of integrated payroll, benefits and benefits administration services, announced it entered into an alliance with Atlanta-based Digital Insurance Inc., to address unique group insurance to companies with less than 26 employees.

MBS is the workforce technology and business processes outsourcing unit in the H&R Block Business Services division. Digital, a national employee benefits brokerage company, provides a compatible infrastructure that helps smaller groups obtain hard-to-get group health insurance and other benefits.

“A constant complaint of smaller businesses is that they cannot find insurance companies that will write health policies for small groups, or else they have to accept higher costs or substandard benefits for their employees,” said MBS president Robert M. Digby. “Digital Insurance really is the only company that has a cost, service and technology structure that enables them to operate economically with companies of 25 or fewer employees.”

Under terms of the agreement, Digital will assume responsibility for managing brokerage services for MBS clients in the under 25-employee group. For new prospects in the smaller business category, Digital staff will handle tasks, including working directly with the prospect to gather census data, plan design, shopping the market for the best programs to meet specific needs and coordinating with carriers to implement the programs.

“We are developing substantial relationships with growing agencies across the country so we can deliver on our promises with programs that work to the satisfaction of carriers, employers and employees,” said Tom Usilton, CEO and president of Digital Insurance. “It is our belief that small employers managed out of our service center can receive a level of service unparalleled in the industry today.”
