FAIA Issues Public Service Radio Message in Areas Affected by Wilma

October 31, 2005

A public service announcement has been released by the Florida Association of Insurance Agents to radio stations in areas affected by Hurricane Wilma. The message will be broadcast in Collier, Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

“It’s during this first week after the storm that a homeowner can most accurately document storm damage,” Jeff Grady, FAIA president said. “The sooner you can file your claim, the sooner you can get your life back on track.”

The announcement provides helpful information in documenting storm damage and a toll-free number to report claims.

Information in FAIA’s announcement warns all policyholders to take the following precautions after a hurricane:

* Take photos of all damages;

* Keep repair receipts; and

* Contact insurance agents as soon as possible.

This is the second announcement FAIA has sent out this year. The first was sent in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
