Authorities are investigating an early morning church fire in Winder in northeast Georgia that they say is suspicious.
Glenn Allen, a spokesman for state Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner John Oxendine said a neighbor called authorities about 3:50 a.m. Wednesday to report the fire at New Life Church.
Allen says the fire at the non-denominational church caused heavy damage to the sanctuary.
The arson unit from the insurance commissioner’s office and the Barrow County Fire Department responded to the call.
Allen says Oxendine considers the fire to be suspicious.
No injuries have been reported.
