Mark E. Howerton has been promoted to vice president of DVUA West Virginia Inc. and DVUA of Ohio Inc., according to George F. “Rusty” Ellis, senior vice president.
Howerton manages the Property/Casualty Department in the West Virginia office and supervises three property/casualty underwriters and seven assistants. On the production side, Howerton acts as an underwriter and broker for complex commercial and industrial accounts.
Howerton began his tenure with DVUA in 1990 as an assistant underwriter. He was promoted to underwriter in 1993 and senior underwriter in 1994. In January 1997, Howerton was promoted to assistant vice president.
Founded in 1947, DVUA specializes in “hard to place” products and general liability, professional liability, commercial property and transportation risks. It has seven offices located in Hatboro, Penna.; Massachusetts; northern New Jersey; North Carolina; Pittsburgh, Penna.; South Carolina; and West Virginia.
