The US Taxpayer should not have bailed out one single person as a result of hurricane Katrina.
If “responsible” people would have been adequately insured AND in case of a catastrophic event like Katrina, carried some type of gap coverage (I.E flood insurance) the outcome may have been significantly different.
As long as Uncle Sam continues programs for entitlements, nothing in this country will change.
Only in this country can one not carry insurance, experience a partial or total loss and be fully restored because they are poor or black. It’s the OJ syndrome.
Reggie! Reggie! Reggie! Reggie for president! I thought everyone in our country believed in hand outs and other free stuff at John Q. Public’s expense. Could there be more out there like us Reggie?
“be fully restored because they are poor or black.”
Your words are offensive! I’m a black woman whose never taking a dime from the government yet you accuse so unjustly. Your anger is directed in the wrong direction.
It is hard to accept that “YOU” have purchased Homeowners, Windstorm & Flood coverage for years & paid out premiums so that in the event of a loss your home & contents would be restored… & find out after a catastrophe that the majority of your neighbors did not carry adequate coverage & some had none at all…
What is it that your heart says… does it say that we should help each other or does it say to bad so sad you should have had insurance?
I do not feel that the Government should give away what we work hard for, unless there is a true need. Not because of the color of anyone’s skin or where they were born, but because there is a need. What does your heart say??? If You are the one that paid for Insurance, thank God that you could afford to do so, your peace of mind was worth gold, when your neighbors were stressing out knowing they had lost all…. I hope you see that we are to do what we can for those that cannot do for themselves….
I think a lot of people think and feel like reggie but not many people have the balls to express their beliefs due to this P.C. bullcrap that has infiltrated our country and ruined it.
pigs at the trough
Some people don’t know how to spell “responsible”.
Some realists are idiots

That sentence doesn’t make any sense. Try re-phrasing it.

And yet again, the whims of the weirdos over ride the needs of the nation. It just doesnt pay to be responsible anymore.

Have a blessed day!
I like that you posted the truth about you. Its a good reminder that one, generalizations don’t work and two, hardworking people come in all colors.
