Just like Florida, a bunch of rich people want the government to subsidize their way of living.

It is amazing how selfish people can be. The coastal area of Al probably contributes gratly to the overall economy of the state. Here in Texas, oil refineries, chemical plants, farming, large seaports are located along the coast. Their employees have to be able to aford insurance to work in these industries that benefit the entire state. That being said, I do believe some wind rates along the coast wre artfically too low.

It realy bothers me that many insurance compaies are allowed to cherry pick what they will write and where they will write. Seems like a form of redlining!

It is called underwriting. It’s the American way. The underwriters are risking the capital of their companies and have owners/shareholders to represent.
