Peter Corrigan, president of Florida Family Insurance Co., was recently presented with the Florida Insurance Council’s 2010 Wade E. Holland, Jr. Distinguished Service Award during the trade association’s annual conference.
The award is presented annually to an individual in recognition of outstanding contributions to the success of the insurance community, its policyholders and the Florida Insurance Council.
Corrigan has served as the chairman of the Florida Insurance Council’s (FIC) property insurance committee for the past three years and has played a role in FIC’s legislative and regulatory program. In addition, Corrigan was elected by to the position of chair-elect for the 2011-2012 year. He serves on the FIC board of directors and was its treasurer from 2009-2010.
Corrigan is an insurance executive with 28 years experience in the industry. He is also a former chairman of the Florida Windstorm Underwriting Association. He joined Florida Family as a vice president and was promoted to chief underwriting officer in 2002, and promoted again to president in 2008.
Florida Family Insurance Co. is a Florida-based property insurer with offices in Jacksonville and Bonita Springs.
