I think that all P & C carriers that do buniness in Florida should hold a protest rally on the steps of the Flordia DOI to show their feelings towards the #1 WORST Insurance Department in the nation!!!!

LOL I dont know why he is so upset have you seen the list for the increases? Pasco is getting hardly any increase, its Hillsborough that will be raked over the coals.

Fasano is waisting his time in state politics, he’d fit right in with the rest of the idiots in Congress.

Pasco isnt even in the 10 highest proposed rate increases:
    Escambia $68 increase
    Hills. $3,495 increase (that’s right!)
    Orange %78 increase

And those are the top three…per FAIA.

FLagent, that’s not right. Citizens has the projected increases on their website. Hernando County (remainder of county) is the highest with a $5,078 increase and Hernando Coastal is about a $4,400 increase. Hillsborough is 2nd.

And if you look “percentage wise” you may be right with your figures about the highest increases, but going from $3 to $78 isn’t nearly as bad as going from $1475 to $4400 which is what will happen in Pasco.

Why don’t they protest against excessive pumping of groundwater? That’s what’s causing the problem, not the insurance cos.

But, of course, that would require a brain, and, gasp!, integrity. That explains everything.

Come on. Hillsborough is not in his voting district – Pasco is! Typical Fasano grandstand.

What does Fasano suggest as alternative to rate increase?

We all know the problem(s)…it’s just darn few SOLUTIONS available that we would all like!

There is only one solution: Fasano should be demonstrating against the excessive pumping of groundwater, THAT’S what causes sinkholes, not insurance cos.

But of course that would require:
      1. More intelligence than an over-ripe banana, and
      2. Integrity

      Well, that explains everything.

Sounds like he’s planning on running for Congress, he’ll fit right in.

Fasano and politicians like him are the cause of all of Florida’s problems. The only reason the rate increases are so high is because they forced them to be so low in the first place and mandated the sale of the coverage. A real Republican should primary him big time.

Fasano and others argues most sinkhole claims are denied. What they dont tell you is the plaintiff attorney then pays an engineer to find sinkhole, sometimes without even doing their own testing, and then files suit knowing juries will never side with an insurance carrier and then forces some type of settlement which often has nothing to do with the homeowner rather their own fees. I have seen this happen and dont let them tell you it doesnt. I know of a public adjuster in Orlando that goes door to door knocking looking for sinkhole claims. I personally have received sinkhole solicitation letters from public adjusters.
