Appalachian Underwriters, Inc. (AUI) will be the exclusively endorsed workers’ compensation provider for the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia. This organization includes 660 member agencies.
AUI will utilize its Bulldog Comp product to provide coverage in Georgia. The agency believes there is a good opportunity for writing business in the state after Georgia lost access to several carrier outlets.
The program focuses on hard-to-place accounts such as carpentry, millwrights, excavation, short-haul trucking and accounts with height exposure up to 40 feet.
AUI accepts accounts with experience modification factors up to 1.50. It also offers online rating capabilities.
The Oak Ridge, Tenn.-based MGA was founded on writing workers’ compensation.
