A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of three students who were in tour bus crash in south-central Kentucky last week minutes into a trip to Washington, D.C.
WBKO-TV in Bowling Green reported that the lawsuit in Hart County Circuit Court in Munfordville alleges the driver may have violated federal regulations regarding the number of hours one can drive and was driving too fast on Kentucky 728.
Lawyer Mike Breen, who represents the victims, said some adults on the bus called 911 to report the driver was speeding and driving unsafely and that another parent following in a car also called 911.
The tour and bus companies didn’t return calls to the station seeking comment.
Police said only one of the 55 people aboard was seriously injured.
