Auto insurance giant GEICO promoted Rhett Rayburn to vice president of Southeast operations. He will be based in GEICO’s Macon, Ga., office.
Prior to his new role, Rayburn was assistant vice president of claims operations in GEICO’s Tucson, Ariz., office since 2010.
Rayburn first joined GEICO as a telephone claims representative trainee in the Virginia Beach, Va., office in 1992. He advanced through several claims positions in the company’s Virginia Beach and Macon offices, and served as claims liability director in the Lakeland, Fla., office.
In addition to managing claim operations, Rayburn also served as liability process coordinator at the company’s competitive advantage leadership group, and then completed the executive assistant program before being named liability director in San Diego office in 2009. A year later, he was named assistant vice president with claims responsibilities in the Tucson office.
