Dear State Farm, thank you for employing so many people in Illinois over the years. I, for one, understand the motivation to get out of town.
Its been a good ride and we realize that all good things must come to and end.
Yep. Rather than complain loudly or pull up a pack of moving vans to Bloomington, they are doing it step by step inch by inch. At some point in time, far more of their operations will be located out of the state of Illinois rather than in it and then it’ll be easy to move the remainder.
I work for a national carrier in a business and insurance unfriendly state. We are proudly proclaiming our love of our city and state, but evey new job is being created outside of our headquarters state and layoffs have reduced the numbers employed here.
In the next 5 years, our profile in terms of where employees are located will look an awful lot like State Farm-low cost living, low cost business and insurance friendly environments.
