William Henry Bullock, 64, of Knightdale, North Carolina has been arrested on a charge of obtaining property by false pretense, according to North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin.
Department of Insurance criminal investigators allege that Bullock falsely reported his Ford Mustang stolen, filed a fraudulent insurance claim with GEICO Insurance Co. and accepted approximately $4,600 to settle the claim. An anonymous caller reported that the vehicle was being stored under a tarp behind Bullock’s girlfriend’s residence and investigators recovered the vehicle.
Bullock was arrested on Nov. 6 and was placed under a $2,000 secured bond.
